I recently turned 26 and I freaked out about it a little bit (if you’d like to read the entire rambly freak-out post, please feel free). I hate getting older, I hate the reminders of all the things I have yet to achieve and all the things I wish I’d already done but either never got around too or was too chicken shit to actually do them. In general, my birthday and the period around my birthday is a time of reflection for me – but it never normally ends with wonderful revelations, just with me crying into a slice of birthday cake. But an opportunity arose shortly after which after a bit of brainstorming, gave me the idea of this post.
I’ve tried to incorporate travel and holiday type posts on my blog a lot more recently because holidays, trips and even short weekends away mean an awful lot to me. They leave us with some of the best memories and photos to look back on and by writing about it, I get to reminisce all over again! My most recent trip was a weekend away in Shropshire on the Severn Valley Railway, which I’ve done twice now and thoroughly enjoy and back in March, I also wrote a post about some of my favourite holidays. You’ll see that one of the holidays I included in that post was skiing, which is what I’m chatting about today!
I’m most certainly not a travel blogger: I don’t go on nowhere near enough holidays or trips for that to be a reality unfortunately. As much as I wish I could book a dozen small getaways a year, that’s not realistic for me… And probably for a lot of other people too. However, over the last few months I have thoroughly enjoyed talking about holiday type things a bit more. I recently wrote a post about what holidays mean to me and I have a post coming up next month about my favourite Disneyland Paris attractions. These are a nice addition to my blog, I absolutely love writing them and it’s always lovely to look back on wonderful holidays you’ve taken. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do today! I’m dipping my toes in the nostalgia pond today and talking about some of my favourite holidays; both near and far.
Also, apologies for the quality of some of these photos. Some were taken way before a decent camera ever entered my hand!
Hi all! I am absolutely delighted to be on the blog tour for Jaimie Adman’s novel, The Chateau of Happuy Ever Afters today. I’ve known Jaimie since pretty much when I started blogging, I’ve read a few of her Young Adult novels and loved every one of them and we also have exactly the same tattoo, which was a huge surprise when I found out! I’m so excited to be part of Jaimie’s next writing adventure and have had the chance to organise her blog tour for her. Today she’s talking about her writing process and don’t forget to scroll right down to the bottom of the post for a fantastic giveaway!
I pinched this off of Katy’s blog, The Lilac Scrapbook (which is awesome by the way, go check it out!) and although I wasn’t tagged I loved the idea of a travel survey to talk about where you’ve been, where you’d like to go and share some photos! I won’t tag anyone at the end as I wasn’t tagged myself but if you’d like to do it then go ahead! (Be sure to credit it to Wanderness as she made the tag up!) Continue reading “The TMI Travel Tag!”
