You want to stay in the best, most luxurious hotel you can think of. But just remember that luxury comes with a hefty price tag. If it’s just you and you’re willing to splash out (why not indeed) then make your stay as relaxing and carefree as possible. Use that Jacuzzi and private pool as often as you like and don’t stop ordering those margaritas. This is your holiday after all and you deserve to be treated like royalty. According to experts, a break away from time to time can lower your blood pressure and glucose levels and you’ve certainly packed that fact, in your suitcase with you.

If you’re going with your family, then make it all about them, not just you. Yes, you may like to traipse around Barbados and slob out on the beach from dawn til dusk but your kids certainly won’t. You need to research activities for them too. Look for kids clubs they could join while you bask in the rays or go on family excursions exploring the local area. You can have those more relaxing holidays when you’re well into your golden years! Ensure the hotel is family friendly too. You don’t want nosey neighbours banging at your door at every moment! If the hotel is, do your pre research online and see whether they do activities for children. Do they come recommended? Check out reviews and see what you think. While they partake in these activities, then you could make it all about you; if only for a short time. Book in a spa or a turkish bath. Relax how you like to relax.

When booking flights, it’s important that you can trust the airline that you are flying with. Look online if you’re unsure and read comments about what people have previously said about them. Are they mainly all positive? You should also research all prices and times available to you. Are you able to make the most of your days away with your arrival and departure times? Decide whether you wish to travel in economy class with the masses or do you feel more comfortable in first class? Check how comfortable through websites like firstclass.flights. Whether you’re sipping free champagne or purchasing Pepsi from the trolley, this is the start of your holiday and you must ensure that it feels like one. Distract the young ones with an iPad whilst you get 40 winks or read that book you haven’t had time to think about. This is your time away, as much as theirs.

However you choose to travel, the next week or fortnight will hopefully be one of the best experiences of your lives. Make sure you live it up to the max as unfortunately it will be short lived, but in its place, you will get a thousand memories that you can cherish forever.
