AD // I think it’s safe to say that we’re all desperate for a holiday right now. After 24 months of mostly being stuck at home, I’m desperate to get back out into the world and I’m sure you are too. Although we might not be quite there yet, it’s a good time to start thinking about future holidays and plans. And what sounds better than a cruise?
Introducing… Ambassador Cruise Line
Setting sail next year, Ambassador Cruise Line is Britain’s next cruise line and ONLY cruise line to come out of Britain since 2010. Ambassador Cruise Line is adult-focused and age-inclusive but primarily aimed at the 50-plus market.
Ambassador Cruise Line offer a range of cruise destinations and itineraries to suit all. Whether you’re after some Winter sun, Christmas markets or a lengthier cruise to make up for lost time. Ambassador has it all!
Group Chairman, Gordon Wilson has said, “There’s a certain style and cachet to cruising – and we want to bring that back”, emphasizing that they aim to return to a more traditional style of cruising – without being stuffy.
Say hello to Ambiance
Formerly known as P&O Australia’s Pacific Dawn, Ambassadors first ship, Ambiance has been upgraded and overhauled to comply to new environmental standards. Measuring at 811ft long with 11 guest decks, 5 restaurants, 2 cafes, 9 bars and lounges and a swimming pool and spa, they’re definitely not skimping!
Ambience’s inaugural sailing on April 6 next year will be a four-night cruise to Hamburg ahead of a spring program that includes Norwegian fjords and the British Isles.
What about the cabins?
Ambience offers a wide range of different cabin options for guests over 7 decks. Averaging 17-18 square meters, most cruise cabins are more spacious by today’s standards anyway and on Ambience, that’s no exception. All cabins are air conditioned with en suite facilities – most have a bath tub as well!
You can also expect to find: tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, hair dryer, personal safe, UK three pin electrical sockets and USB ports, and flat screen TV for in house movies, news and documentaries as well as 24 hour room service available at a supplementary cost.
There are also 12 disability and mobility adapted cabins.
Where will Ambience sail?
There are a lot of destinations that really appeal to me which Ambience and the Ambassador Cruise Line plan to sail to over the years. But let’s start with their maiden voyage.
Setting sail on April 6th 2022, Ambience will depart from London Tilbury and set sail to Hamburg on a 4 night voyage. Stopping at Hamburg on day 2, starting at £369 per person!
Winter Escape Cruises: From November 2022, you’ll be able to embark on Ambassasor’s Winter Sun cruises through the Canary Islands, Morocco, Cuba and more. These voyages start at 15 nights and go right the way to a 14 night cruise – which is perfect for anyone truly looking for an escape!
Northern Lights: In March 2023, we see Ambience sail to Norway and Iceland on their Northern Lights cruises. I think we all dream of seeing the Northern Lights at least once in our lives, don’t we? You can explore the magical Norwegian coastline featuring charming villages or the beautiful and unspoiled island of Iceland before we venture far beyond the Arctic Circle in search of the mythical Aurora Borealis.
Festive Markets: Fancy a quick cruise across the pond to check out some cute German Christmas markets? From just £199 per person for a 3 night cruise, you can! Setting sail in December 2022, you can celebrate the Christmas season in style on Ambassador’s cruise ship – whilst experiencing the magic of German Christmas markets as well!
British Isles Discovery: If you fancy staying a little closer to home but still want the amazing experience of a cruise, then their British Isles Discovery cruises would be perfect for you. You’re able to take in the incredible diversity of the British coastline or even embark on their Queen’s Platinum Jubilee cruise!
I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise and it’s definitely on my travel bucket list. There are lots of options that Ambassador offer that appeal to me – especially the Christmas markets! I think it’s safe to say we’re all looking forward to the travel industry opening back up properly again and I think it’s an amazing feat for a brand new cruise line to come on the scene at this time.
Sounds about right for my age range haha! It looks and sounds amazing! I’d love to go on a cruise one day.
