Be Friendly

The first thing you need to do is try and be friendly. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make someone’s day, such as knowing that you are thinking about them or giving a stranger a smile in the street.

#If you can take steps to be friendly then you never know, it might encourage someone else to do the same and this can help you to make a monumental difference.

Volunteer

Another thing you can do is volunteer. You don’t need to sign up with a soup kitchen here. You can easily sign up with a pet shelter or offer to walk someone’s dog if you know that they are having a hard time.

If you don’t have any money to donate, then volunteering is one of the best things you can do, so make sure that you keep this in mind. If you want to volunteer to help an organisation then why not look into what humanitarian organisations operate in your area?

Donate

If you have a ton of items that you don’t use then it could be wise for you to try and donate them. You can drop them off at a local charity shop or you can put your clutter to good use by giving it to someone who you know needs it.

If you have an old toaster or a kettle then it may be that you give this to a friend who you know is moving into their first house, as an example. Little things like this can make a monumental difference to their lives, even though it doesn’t require much effort on your behalf.

Stop to Help

If you see someone pulled over at the side of the road, why not stop to help them? Sometimes all they need is a push or someone to check in on them. It may be that they are having the worst day in the world and need a bit of help.

It may be that they just need to make a quick phone call, but their mobile is dead. Either way, if you can lend your support here then you could help someone in need and it’ll only take a few minutes of your time.

Teach

Another thing you can do is take the time to teach someone a valuable skill. This could be teaching an elderly relative to use Skype or Zoom so that they can keep in touch with family members, as an example.

You might also want to teach your child how to ride a bike as well. Either way, life skills like this don’t take a lot to pass on, but they could change someone’s life for the better. If you can adopt this mindset then you will soon be able to feel a great deal of satisfaction by helping others.
