ad | Although Mother’s Day has only just been and gone here in the UK, Father’s Day is the next occasion on the list to tick off for 2024. Taking place on Sunday June 16th, it’s still a while away yet but it’s always good to be prepared and get some inspiration for these occasions early.

I don’t know about you but I find Father’s Day a much harder occasion to buy for.

My Dad never needs or wants anything, so I don’t want to buy him random stuff that he won’t use which would be a waste of money. Men are notoriously harder to buy for than women I find.

So if you know you’re going to struggle with Father’s Day gifts, here are some ideas to keep in the back of your mind for the occasion!

Experience Day

If you have a Dad who’s hard to buy for, then perhaps forget about buying a physical gift this Father’s Day and instead opt for a fun and exciting experience day for him. Something unique which he will remember forever!

What sort of experience days might you consider?

  • Supercar track day
  • Football stadium tour
  • Zip World
  • Silverstone Museum
  • Indoor Skydiving

Fun T-Shirts

If your Dad is a bit of a geek, then a geek t shirt would be a nice extra little gift for him for Father’s Day. There are plenty of nerdy clothes to cover all basis, like this star wars t shirt for any Star Wars fans!

Alcohol

If your Dad has a favourite tipple, then a new bottle wouldn’t go amiss on Father’s Day. Perhaps treat him to a slightly more expensive version of his favourite drink; whether that’s whisky, scotch or red wine.

A Day Out

Instead of an experience day, as mentioned above, you might want to consider curating your own day out for you and your Dad for Father’s Day, depending on what he enjoys. You might consider:

  • Going to the zoo or a safari park
  • Shopping and lunch in your city
  • A theme park if he’s an adrenaline junkie
  • Theatre show and dinner

Homemade meal

A lovely gift idea for your Dad for Father’s Day would be to treat him to his favourite homemade meal. Pull out all the stops; starters, mains and a dessert and a nice glass of his favourite drink.

A personalised gift

Something personal never goes amiss for occasions such as this. I love personalised gifts because they’re truly one of a kind and special only to the recipient. Maybe a personalised wallet or photo book would be a nice gift idea.

What do you usually get your Dad or Father figure for Father’s Day? Is he hard to buy for?
