ad | I think it’s safe to say that Autumn is most people’s favourite time of year. As much as I love Summer myself, the heat can sometimes start getting a bit much and I just yearn for a cosy evening, a nice stew and a hot chocolate!

I can honestly say that this Autumn has been one of my favourites so far. From an Autumnal and cosy trip to the Cotwolds, to spending the day at the pumpkin patch, hearty and warming Autumn pub grub, Autumnal walks and more, I feel like I’ve really embraced this season more than some years previous.

So, in the spirit of Autumn and really embracing this beautiful season, even from the comfort of your own home, I’ve teamed up with Very.co.uk to bring you an Autumn checklist for 2025, to help you romanticize this time of year and squeeze the absolutely most of out it!

Because Christmas will be here before you know it and we’ll all be frantically rushing around buying last minute gifts and stocking up our pantries. So whilst we’ve got a second, let’s relax at home and get cosy for Autumn!

Cosy at Home: Your Autumn Checklist for 2025

Hearty and warming Autumnal meals

Is there anything better than hearty and warming Autumn meals? The answer is no. And slow cookers are such a Godsend, as you can prepare everything in the morning (or even the night before!), turn it on and let it do all the hard work until dinner time.

My favourite meal – actually of all time – is my Mum’s stew and dumplings. It’d definitely be my death row meal. Which she does in the slow cooker and it’s super easy but now I can finally get her to teach me how to make it myself, so I can make it at home for me and my husband.

Even though I know it’ll probably never be *quite* as good as hers! It’s so easy as well – literally throw it all in the slow cooker and leave on high for approximately 7 or 8 hours then you’re ready to enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 400g beef
  • 1 or 2 packets if beef casserole mix
  • New potatos
  • Carrots
  • Brown onion
  • Leeks
  • Swede
  • 50g barley

Decorating your space for Autumn

I feel like decorating for Autumn with Autumn decor has really taken off over the last few years. We’re all very used to decorating for Christmas and enjoying the twinkling lights throughout the Winter months and into the New Year but I think it’s lovely that we’re making more effort to celebrate and embrace Autumn as well.

Don’t tell Christmas but I actually think Autumn decor is cuter!

I’ve got some new Autumn decor that I’ve used to decorate my office, in particular my cosy little reading corner (more on that in the next point). I’ve added a blanket, an Autumn garland, an Autumn cushion, some super cute pumpkin ceramics and a pumpkin cushion and this lovely little light up tree. I’m already looking forward to getting all this back out next year.

Although the tree is definitely staying up!

Set up a cosy reading corner

There’s nothing cosier than being warm and snuggled up with a good book. In my opinion. Whether you like cosy reads or scary ones, setting up a cosy reading corner should definitely be on your Autumn checklist!

I used all the fab Autumn decor to transform this little corner of my office into a little reading nook for myself and it’s super cosy!

Let’s get cosy with movie night

Whether you prefer edge of your seat scary movies (like me!) or cosy Autumnal TV shows, it’s the perfect time of year to snuggle up and have a movie (or TV show) night with your partner, your pals, your puppy – or yourself!

It’s the perfect Autumnal activity to do at home to help you wind down after a long day or week or just take that well-needed time to de-stress and do nothing productive – which is something I always struggle to do and have to really force myself to do sometimes.

Feeling super cosy is the best place to start and these gorgeous new Chelsea Peers Pjs are helping me do just that. They are silky smooth and feel so luxurious on the skin, especially after a nice warm shower and freshly shaved legs! I think the burgundy is the ultimate Autumnal colour as well.

Your cosy movie night check-list:

  • Autumnal scented candles
  • A super cosy blanket to wrap up in
  • Your brand new Chelsea Peers Pjs of course!
  • Your favourite snacks
  • Fairy-lights or your Autumn home decor

An Autumnal pamper night for one

And speaking of freshly shaved legs, let’s add an Autumnal pamper night into the mix!

It’s probably time you investing in a little bit of self care anyway and Autumn is a good time to do this, as the weather is getting colder (and your skin will need taking care of), the nights are drawing in and the stress and excitement of Christmas is just a month or so away.

After an “everything shower”, pop on your cosy Chelsea Peers Pjs, light your favourite candle, stick on a podcast or some music and spent some time doing your skincare, perhaps a face mask, paint your nails, have a good moisturize and feel like a new person afterwards!

Other cosy and fun Autumnal activities at home

  • Pumpkin carving or painting
  • Make your own Autumnal wreath
  • Bake an apple pie
  • Have a horror movie night
  • Have a board game night with friends
  • Get a fire pit and toast marshmallows
  • Host a murder mystery dinner
  • Do a spooky photo shoot

I think ultimately, this time of year is just crying out for us to slow down a little bit. After a long Summer and before the Christmas rush, it’s the perfect time to take a little step back, maybe empty the calendar a little bit and go inwards, spending more time at home, with yourself or with loved ones and restoring.

What’s on your Autumn check list this year?
