collaborative post | If you’d told me a few years ago I’d be writing about boric acid suppositories, I’m not sure I’d have believed you. But this blog has never shied away from the health topics we usually whisper about, so let’s talk about it. Vaginal health is part of looking after yourself, the same as sleep, skincare or anything else in your self care routine.

Boric acid suppositories have become a huge part of the vaginal wellness conversation, especially in the US. Here in the UK they’re not a pharmacy staple yet, so most of us will be ordering online. That makes knowing your brands before you buy even more important.

What to know before you compare

A boric acid suppository is a small capsule you insert vaginally, usually at bedtime, where it slowly dissolves overnight. Most reputable brands use a 600 mg dose of pharmaceutical-grade or medical-grade boric acid. The aim is supporting your vaginal pH balance, which naturally sits in an acidic range of around 3.8 to 4.5.

You may have come across boric acid in conversations about recurring bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections, often when standard treatments fall short. That conversation belongs with your doctor. Everything below is general product information to help your research, not medical advice.

One safety rule sits above everything else. Cleveland Clinic explains that boric acid suppositories are for vaginal use only and must never be taken by mouth. They’re also not for use during pregnancy, so speak to a healthcare professional before starting anything new.

1. Love Wellness The Killer®

The Killer® from Love Wellness is a single-ingredient boric acid suppository made to promote fresh vaginal odor and support a healthy vaginal environment. Each capsule contains 600 mg of pharmaceutical-grade boric acid, inserted at bedtime. The formula is fragrance-free and contains no essential oils, which the brand treats as a point of principle.

It was formulated by a medical doctor and is made in an FDA registered facility. The brand suggests using it for up to five consecutive days as needed. The capsule is gelatin rather than vegan, so plant-based readers may prefer another pick on this list.

2. pH-D Feminine Health

pH-D describes itself as the original boric acid suppository brand and the number one doctor-recommended option in the US. Each suppository contains 600 mg of boric acid in a small capsule under an inch long. There’s also a moisturizing version made with coconut oil and vitamin E.

If you want the most established name in the category, this is the natural starting point. The moisturizing formula can produce slightly more leakage than the original, so a panty liner will be your friend either way.

3. AZO Boric Acid

AZO is a name plenty of women already know from the urinary health aisle. Its suppositories combine a clinically studied 600 mg of boric acid with naturally sourced aloe vera for a soothing feel. The formula is free from perfumes and artificial dyes.

The added aloe does mean this isn’t a single-ingredient product, if that matters to you. But if you like buying from a big, familiar brand, AZO is the closest thing this category has to a drugstore classic.

4. NutraBlast Boric Life

Boric Life keeps things simple with 600 mg of pharmaceutical-grade boric acid as its only ingredient. The capsules are vegetable-based rather than gelatin. It’s made in the USA in an FDA registered facility.

The brand’s own guidance suggests bedtime use over a longer course than some of its rivals. As with everything here, run your routine past your doctor rather than following a label alone.

5. Intimate Rose Boric Balance

Intimate Rose comes at this category from a pelvic health background, which gives the brand a slightly more specialist feel. Its boric acid suppositories are positioned around feminine deodorizing and freshness, in vegan capsules.

The brand doesn’t lead with a dose figure the way the others on this list do, so read the label closely before buying. It suits anyone who likes their intimate care to come from a company rooted in pelvic wellness more broadly.

Finding what works for you

Every brand here handles the same basic format a little differently, from added ingredients to capsule material and usage guidance. None of them replaces a proper conversation with your doctor, especially if something recurring is going on.

Looking after yourself includes the parts of self care nobody posts about. Do the research, ask the awkward questions and choose what works for you. No shame here.
