I am very organised. That’s not me being big-headed, it’s simply a fact. I thrive off of organisation, I work well when I’m organised, when things are in place and I know what I’m doing and when. I’ve never really been a spontaneous person, I like having a plan and a schedule. I am very much a Type A personality – you can’t get much more Type A than me! But I pride myself on this because I get shit done. I might not be the most creative person. I can’t draw or paint or write poetry or arrange flowers but you know what I can do? Get 7 blog posts written in 1 day. I can keep to deadlines and I make a plan and stick to it. I recently ran a Twitter poll about whether to do a post like it – I didn’t want to come across as pompous or anything, I simply just want to share some tips that I personally find helpful!
If you know me but at all, you will know that I am very, very organised. I rarely toot my own horn (and no that’s not a euphemism for m a s t u r b a t i o n) but I pride myself on my organisational skills and looking like I have my life in order when I really, really, really don’t (cries). But seriously though, it’s one of the very few things I can honestly say, hands down that I am really fucking good at. Maybe it’s inate, my mum works in an office and quite frankly, the entire company would crumble without her. Or maybe it’s learnt. But whatever it is, it does come in super handy. So here are some of my tips and whatnot which I use to stay organised.
If you know me, you’ll know that I’m super organised (well, try to be). I feel much better when I know what I’m doing, when I’m doing it and when everything is in order. I work better under organised conditions and being an active blogger and small business owner, it’s really important to me that I stay organised.
I am an avid ‘to-do lister’. In fact, I often wonder whether I could successfully get through the day without writing down everything I need to do. I know some people would hate this idea because we’re supposed to be ‘spontaneous’ and ‘live in the moment’ – which is all very well and good but on a working day, without my lists, I wouldn’t know which way was up. I know for a fact that there are fellow ‘to-do listers’ out there in the big wide world of the internet so I composed a list of things that I’m sure you’ll all understand.
