Welcome to February’s book haul! This is the very first book haul I’ve done, all the cool kids seem to be doing them now so I thought I’d give it a go. Ideally I would have started in January but you know, I rock to the beat of my own drum and all that. This post also gave me the chance to take more photos on my swanky new camera that I have absolutely no idea how to use. As you can tell, I’m no photographer. I never really feature any of my own photos on the blog so this will give me a nice chance to start doing so. Anyway, here’s the selection of paperback books I’ve acquired throughout February – both review copies sent by authors/publishers, ones I’ve purchased myself.
The first up is a nice little collection I was sent from Head of Zeus. These are slowly becoming one of my favourite publishing companies because not only do they send you all the shiny new review copies, they also have a huge range of different genres. I’m not one to stick to one genre so I love to see what’s up next when I get a parcel through the post from them. Fractured by Dani Atkins, The Lie of You by Jane Lythell and The Boat by Clara Salaman are some of the prime examples of the fantastic books they publish! This month I was sent Channel Blue by Jay Martel which I’ve already read. I won’t give anything away as my review will be up in March. To Die For by Phillip Hunter and The Darling Girls by Emma Burstall which I’ve heard great things about already.
Next up was a nice little parcel from Cathy Wright, the publicist of Tony Drury. I’ve never previously heard of this author before but Cathy contacted me a while back. She provided me with a copy of Tony’s new book A Flash of Lightning and a little short story called Hannah’s Choice which I’m going to keep aside for my readathon. Tony is an ambassador for HEART UK, a charity that deals with high cholesterol and heart problems and has done a lot to help spread awareness and raise money which is pretty cool!
Last but not least, there’s the highly anticipated, highly talked about new novel from Rowan Coleman, The Memory Book. I bought this one myself with the remainders of a Amazon Gift Card I got for Christmas and was so happy when it turned up because just look at how beautiful it is! I can’t wait to read it. I want to start reading it this very second but I’m so caught up in review copies it’s going to have to wait but I has a rightful place on my shelf until then.
I hope you enjoyed my first book haul! I don’t really know what I’m doing, heck, I didn’t even know what book haul meant until a couple of months ago! If you have any tips on anything else I can include in future haul’s please let me know because no doubt you’re all a lot more clued up than me! Have you read any of these books? What did you think?
I CAN’T WAIT TO READ THE DARLING GIRLS! It’s sitting on my shelf staring angrily at me!
Also, super jealous face being pulled right now because I am so eager to read The Memory Book! Can’t wait to read your review for it 🙂 xxxxxxxx
Ah me too! I’ve heard really really good things about it so I’m intrigued!
And thanks! I’m DYING to read it! As soon as I’ve finished this review copy I think I’m gonna have to dive straight in, cos I can’t wait any longer! xxxxxxx
I do love a good book haul post!
