AD - This is a paid advertorial but all thoughts are my own

Everyone in my life knows that on their birthday or at Christmas, they’re going to receive a gift with my dog’s face on it. I’m sure there are other dog owners reading this who are just utterly obsessed with their dog and want photos of their dog just about everywhere? Surly that’s not just me? I think for those in this exclusive club, finding gift ideas for pet lovers can get harder and harder as the years go by. We must have 4 mugs with my dogs face on by now!

gift ideas for pet lovers

Whether your pet is still with us or not, I think buying pet related gifts is such a lovely idea. They’re personal (and I’m a HUGE LOVER of personalised gifts) and they’re cute. And you can get so many different types of gifts – including practical things that are handy for every day use (like mugs – duh!)

Socks with your pets face on them

I recently bought my boyfriend a pair of socks with my dog’s face on them for his birthday in June and he loved them! They came out so well and they’re so cute so for a great stocking filler suggestion, I’d highly recommend the pet face on socks option! And let’s face it, we ALL need a pair of socks for Christmas, don’t we?

An illustration of your pet from Vector Pets

From starting prices of just £8.10, an Animal Illustration of your beloved pet could make an absolutely wonderful gift for any birthday or Christmas. Even Mother’s Day or Father’s Day! I’ve personally bought homemade illustrations before, one of my own dog for my Mum and one of my boyfriend’s dog for him for Christmas one year. His dog has sadly passed away since then, so that illustration is arguably even more special now than it was before.

vectorpets.com has a super easy step by step guide on uploading your own photo, choosing your style (either a doodle or a more detailed image of your pet, like the example above!) and choosing your additional extras, such as additional files, 24 hour delivery (perfect for a last minute gift!) and optional revisions to your illustration.

Illustrations are sent straight to your email so you can choose whether to print it out yourself or keep it as a digital download. I think this is one of the ultimate gift ideas for pet lovers!

A calendar full of photos of your pet

I get one of these EVERY SINGLE YEAR for my Mum to hang up in her office and I always find them so much fun to make online. Because it’s not only a super cute gift idea for pet lovers, it’s also practical. Because who doesn’t need a new calendar at the start of the year?

A homemade paw print mold

I saw this idea years ago and I did try it myself with my own dog but it didn’t work but that’s 100% due to my lack of creativity and artistic talent as well as just being generally clumsy – whoops. But I think if you’re into homemade gifts and have a pet who’s willing to cooperate, then this could be a really cute gift ideas for pet lovers! Check out this post on how to take a safe mould of your pet’s paw.

A pet subscription box

Subscription boxes are always a good idea. I love subscription boxes and many subscription box brands now offer a one off box which is perfect for birthdays and Christmas and specific occasions without committing to one every single month. I recently reviewed the Hounds and Hers box, which is a great option for dog owners because both YOU and YOUR DOG get gifts!

Which of these is your favourite gift ideas for pet lovers? Have you ever bought a pet lover in your life something like these? Do you have any other suggestions to add to this post? Let me know!

  1. I honestly could stare at my cat’s face for hours so a gift with her on it is always a win for me! One Christmas my husband got me little decorations with the paw prints of both of our cats, and my mum’s cat on them. It was such a lovely gift, especially as two of those cats have now passed away.

  2. Wow! Such an inspiring post. I have 3 dogs for 6 years already and never gave them gift lol. Socks with my pet face in it seems good idea! 😀

  3. First things first, can I just say that Rory is looking FLAWLESS in that photo, 12/10 cutie. I’d love a Hugo calendar. My mum got my a t-shirt a couple of years ago with Hugo & Seb (guinea pig) on it and it’s so cute. Those illustrations look amazing! x
