GUEST POST // Spirituality is a very broad concept and is hard to pinpoint a definition. It is very personal to each person and at times cannot be explained. Spirituality is a sense of connection that’s bigger than ourselves and although it seems like a religion, it is not. Religion has a clear path and way but spirituality does not.

improve your spiritual healthSpirituality is more of an individual thing, while religion is a certain set of beliefs that a group chooses to obey. To dive deeper into religion, and for learning more, one can search for the specific religion and find out about the latest publications and events sponsored by that religion.

For instance, if one chooses to learn about Christianity, reading the Bible can be the start. Another way to study is to attend church and participate in group studies. In fact, many ministries offer group activities for spiritual growth to help people share their knowledge with the help of up-front, all-team, and screen games. It is up to you to choose how you want to study.

Have you ever felt like you lacked purpose? Or a sense of belonging?

Spirituality may not be a one size fits all kind of deal for people but it is a step in the right direction. Spirituality helps you connect with your own spirit and soul and assists you in making decisions thinking of that.

What have you done to improve your spiritual health lately?

Here are 4 Ways To Improve Your Spiritual Health:

Affirmations

Affirmations is the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment. To use the technique of reciting affirmations properly, you say, write or think something thus confirming it to be true. Affirmations help you spiritually gain more confidence in yourself as well as speak things in existence.

How to use affirmations to improve your spiritual health:

  1. Use “I” or “I am” to claim that it is you affirming
  2. Write in the present tense to affirm what is currently happening
  3. Keep them short and real
  4. Recite at least once a day

Examples of positive affirmations:

  • I am making today count
  • I am in control of my life
  • I love myself
  • I am proud of myself

There are lots of affirmations out there to help you in areas of your life. Self-love, anxiety, personal growth, relationships, and wealth are all great examples.

Crystals

Crystals are becoming more and more popular in the world today and it’s because crystals have the ability to store and transmit energy for wellness and spirituality. You can charge these crystals in moonlight or sunlight depending on what they are and you can wear them, place them somewhere in your house and many other ways to display them.

How to use crystals to improve your spiritual health:

  1. Research more about crystals and what each one represents
  2. Learn how to charge your crystals to their fullest potential
  3. Decide how you want to display them

Each individual crystal and gemstone have different meanings so find out whatever you feel like you lack, struggle with or just want to improve in and find the crystal that’s best to assist with this.

Keep hydrated

This may or may not come as a surprise but everything has energy and vibrates at a certain frequency just water. Water is a great method for passing on information and energy from inside us. It’s a known fact that is shared pretty much in grade school that our bodies are made up of about 70% water.

Keeping hydrated in general is important but there are spiritual techniques that can help you use water at a greater capacity like manifestation. Manifestation is a spirituality-inclined method of thinking or feeling a concept into reality.

How to use hydration to improve your spiritual health:

  1. Find a quiet room or spot
  2. Fill up a big glass or bottle of water
  3. Say or think your affirmations and focus on yourself and the charge of the water
  4. Drink the water while focusing on what you are affirming in your life

Practice mindful meditation

Meditation is a powerful tool for healing. Life gets thrown at you in all different directions. You’re forced to face life head-on starting from when you’re a teenager and sometimes you just need to take the time to focus on what you’re feeling and sensing.

How to use mindful meditation to improve your spiritual health:

  1. Find a quiet room or spot
  2. Sit or lay down, it’s up to you. Just make sure that your body is not restricted and you remain open.
  3. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Breathing naturally and not forcing anything.
  4. Focus on feeling and listening to your breathing and the way your body inhales and exhales.

I get it. When I started meditating, I was all over the place and thinking about so many different things that it felt like I was more stressed out but as time passed, I learned to let the intruding thoughts go and continue on.

There are so many ways to meditate and this is just one of them so be sure to find one that works for you.

Spirituality has been in my life for a few years now. I never considered myself a religious person but it’s comforting to know that spirituality focuses on each individual person and is very personal. Since focusing on spirituality, I’m always trying to find ways on how to improve your spiritual health.

My whole platform is focused on living a happy and cozy life and I believe that life is too short to not live in the moment and grab every bit of it. 1. This is all such useful info! I will always use spirituality in psychotherapy with people I work with to enhance their healing. It’s such a powerful tool, for sure. These tips are great! I’m definitely going to use them in practice and with folks I work with 🙂 Great post!

  2. I liked the inclusion of crystals. They play a big role in the spiritual journey. I haven’t seen this topic covered in recent posts anywhere so this was a good change. And I so loved the “I”. Something to focus on which I also overlooked unintentionally. Enjoyed reading the guest content. Xx

Present tense and claiming the words is one of the biggest steps to take in manifesting and affirming one’s practice of spirituality. Love seeing crystals and meditation find a home in here too.

  8. Wonderful post! “Spirituality” has become such a hot topic word as of late, and this can be so overwhelming for some. There are so many articles which tell you HOW to be spiritual, and its so easy to feel like you’ve gotten it wrong. Thank you for the reminder!

  9. My girlfriend brought me crystals but I am wanting to learn more about them and how they can help me with my chronic pain and fibromyalgia too. This was a really interesting post for me as I always thought spirituality meant religion. Thank you for sharing this post Jenny.

  10. Great post and I do follow all four things daily. When I need to be particularly mindful or positive because of a situation, I stick affirmations on the bathroom mirrors so they are the first and last thing I read during a day.

  11. I love everything spiritual. I am very intuitive and always seems to know when things are going to happen.

I have crystals all around the house and just started charging them, but need to do more work in this area, as I believe it works.

    Great post.

  12. These are great suggestions, I practice mindful meditation for my mental health and there is spiritual benefits to it too. I’ve also started using crystals rather than just displaying them, but I didn’t know about charging them, so I will do today. Thanks for sharing.
