It’s National Banana Day! I know right, I’m surprised too. Who knew there was an entire day dedicated to bananas? I certainly didn’t! But here we are, celebrating National Banana Day because I don’t know about you but I need more reasons to celebrate. I love bananas and anything banana flavoured, so I’m excited to share some amazing recipes with you today!

National Banana Day

Here’s the catch. The recipes aren’t mine. Is this a bit of a cop out? Potentially. But I’d much rather share these amazing sounding recipes from people who actually know what they’re doing, than whip up something particularly gross just for the sake of National Banana Day that nobody would want to touch with a barge pole.

I’m not the best at baking. Cooking I’m alright with. I find it a great way to relax and unwind and I love throwing ingredients, flavours, herbs and spices together without much thought and just *seeing* what happens. But the precision in baking always throws me off. Which is weird, given that I’m an incredibly anal, type A Virgo. You’d think it would be the other way around.

Although I did make these Rocky Road cakes a little while ago which turned out okay but that’s probably because they were no-bake and required no cooking.

Long story short, I suck at baking. So instead, for National Banana Day, I’ve leant on some blogging friends who were happy for me to share their amazing recipes instead. So if you’re looking for some yummy banana recipes, keep on reading!

  10. Didn’t know … and I really don’t like bananas. They are too soft and sweet, nevertheless there is 2 ways I consume banana 1) peanut butter banana sandwich – generous amount of peanut butter on the slice of bread and banana slices on top. 2) peanut butter banana smoothie with chia seeds, I use unflavored yoghurt – 2 bananas, 2 spoons peanut butter and the rest goes by feel and mood. It looks weird, but tastes good 🙂 About baking – I am trying to take up time to try banana bread – so maybe today?

  11. I had no idea that National Banana Day was a thing before you told me. That being said, our crew of 3 pups are more than happy to celebrate… and with some of the other recipes on this list, I think my husband and I can get behind this celebration too!
