Lots of people like to switch up their home décor to coincide with the seasons. Adding in brighter colours for Summer or neutrals for Fall. Perhaps adding texture in the Winter and going more minimal in the Spring. But one of the most simple ways to change the look and feel of a room is with wall art.

I am a huge lover of wall art and prints. I have some beautiful pieces in my office and bedroom and whilst they’re not particularly pricey, I don’t feel like they have to be in order to make an impact. Art can be affordable and still be beautiful.

However, there are some incredible artists around to support, if you did want to put a little more money behind the artwork in your home. Michelle Mackie from the Windermere Art Gallery is a striking example – I absolutely love her Queen of Hearts piece.

Desenio are a brand that I’ve been lucky enough to work with twice in the past, firstly on collections for your home office and the second time was around prints for your bedroom. I’m thrilled to be sponsored by them again today and to talk about switching up your wall art for Summer.

I’m sure everyone and their Nan has heard of Desenio by now and for good reason. Their selection of prints is outstanding and I love their easy to use website that allows you to search through categories, colours, sizes and more. If you’re looking for something specific, then this is a great tool on the website to use!

They also have their amazing gallery wall tool which allows you to mock up your own gallery wall, before purchasing your prints, so you can see what it looks like beforehand. It gives you options of placement for your prints so you know exactly what to expect – to avoid any disappointment!

I’ve had the same prints up in my office since it was first finished, back in 2020. I love the prints I chose but I feel like it was definitely time to switch them up. And considering we’re heading into Summer, I thought I would really try and embrace the season this year and choose super Summery themed artwork for my office.

I absolutely love the pieces I’ve chosen from Desenio. They’ve given my office a different feel and atmosphere. They’re colourful and bright and fun and embody everything that Summer should be. If you’ve been highly disappointed by the lack of Summer we’ve had over the last few years, then switching up your home decor to reflect the season is a GREAT way to bring Summer to you.

Let’s take a look at the Summer prints I chose for my office:

“Every Summer Has a Story” Text Poster

I’m a sucker for a quote, so I knew I wanted at least one quote in this selection of prints which embodies Summer and I felt so nostalgic reading this quote, I knew I had to get this one. This poster reminds me of my teenager years, hanging out all Summer with my friends, drinking over the park and not having a care in the world.

“California Sky” Poster

The next choice was this beautiful poster of the pastel shades of the California sky. Now, am I likely to be spending any Summers in California? No. Can a girl dream? Absolutely. I love images like this – they are just so beautiful and Summery and a lovely pop of colour on my wall.

“Surfboards” Poster

I really went ALL OUT with Summer themed imagery here. Why not? The last few years have been crap; we barely had a Summer last year, too. So I want to try and embrace it with everything I have this year. This cute image matches perfectly to the one above and is a great addition to my print wall.

“Pink Popsicle” Poster

I love the colour pink, it’s my absolute favourite, so I knew I wanted something ultra pink to add into my print wall an what screams Summer more than ice cream, right? I love this addition because it injects a real bright burst of colour and fun into the wall but also keeps up with the general theme.

“Here Comes The Sun” Poster

Another quote to add to the selection and I had to go with this one because of the connect to The Beatles. My boyfriend loves The Beatles so he liked this poster a lot and every time I look at it, I start humming the song, which is such a feel-good Summery song for this time of year!

“California Laguna Beach” Poster

And finally, another beautiful shot to embody all those feel-good Summer vibes. I used to watch Laguna Beach religiously with my friends as teens. God, we wished we were them SO MUCH and that we lived out somewhere glamorous like that! This one rounded off the set of California themed posters nicely.

Switching up your wall art based on the seasons is a great way to bring the season into your home. Especially if you’re in the UK, with highly unpredictable weather and often colder Summers – or even snow in April. Doing so can completely switch up the vibe of a room which sometimes is exactly what we need for our own self motivation.

Some more simple ways to switch up your home decor for Summer are:

  • Use fresh, bright flowers to brighten up a room
  • Remove all Winter blankets and pillows from around the house
  • Perhaps refresh a wall with a new lick of paint in a brighter colour
  • Invest in some new Summer scented candles

What do you think of the prints I chose? Do you like to switch up your home decor for the seasons? Let me know in the comments!
