collaborative post // Choosing the right jewellery online can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. While there are lots of great sites to choose from, there are also some pretty poor suppliers of jewllery that might look nice on the product picture but in reality, are cheaply made.

Not only that but it can be hard to have so much to choose from, that it can be overwhelming to choose the right pieces suitable for you. With that being said, here are some helpful tips for choosing jewellery when shopping online.

Have a budget

Firstly, be sure to have a budget in mind when it comes to purchasing the jewellery itself. Not everyone has hundreds to spend on one item of jewellery and in some cases, it might be that they need to split their budget in order to buy a variety of pieces.

Consider what the budget is because jewellery can quickly add up in price, even for those more expensive pieces.

Do research on materials

Make sure to do research on pieces when it comes to picking your jewellery. Take a look at what types of metals are considered the best for the type of jewellery you’re after. Consider certain stones that are on offer too. There are often gemstones that correlate to the birth month, which can often be a meaningful gift for someone.

Look for free returns to fuss-free exchanges

When shopping online, there’s nothing worse than ordering something, not realising there are no free returns or exchanges and having to fork out the money to get a refund or exchange! Be sure to check the site’s shipping policy and opt for those sites that are going to make your customer experience a lot easier.

Nowadays, it’s rare for bigger businesses not to offer free shipping. It still may be common for smaller, independent businesses to charge for returns but that’s to be expected.

Shop around for comparisons

When it comes to jewellery options, be sure to shop around for comparisons. Whether it’s for hoop earrings, chunky bracelets or necklaces, it’s worth exploring the large selection available online.

There are plenty of brands out there, meaning there may be some pieces that look strikingly similar and are actually more affordable in one place than the other. Make sure to shop around so that you can get the most value for your money.

Read the reviews

When it comes to choosing jewellery, be sure to read the reviews. This is important because all customers will give a mostly honest opinion of the goods they buy and receive from the brand in quesyion. It’s good to check out what customers are saying about the jewellery and their own personal experience with the brand.

It’s also worth going on sites like Trust Pilot, which showcases all reviews, both good and bad. Reviews hardly ever lie and will tell you soon enough if it’s worth the purchase.

Choosing jewellery online can be challenging but once you find a good few sites, you’re set for future shopping sessions!

  1. When I was younger, I would buy cheap jewelry. I didn’t care if it only lasted one use. Now that I’m older, I would rather save my money and get something high quality. I usually stick to sterling silver and 14k gold. The need the least amount of maintenance, and lasts forever! Great post xx
