Set a Work-Life Balance
It’s one of those policies that is non-negotiable because if we encourage employees to work harder, this will mean they burn out further down the line. It’s not just about their work life, but their home life as well, and their working setup can easily impact their abilities to rest and recover at home. Work-life balance strategies such as unlimited holiday time can prevent burnout and boost energy.
Redesign the Workspace
We should pay attention to the energy and overall vibe of the workspace because it can have an impact on employee morale, productivity, and energy levels. We should incorporate various methods to help our employees work better, and this can be as simple as making changes to their workspace and implementing ergonomic chairs, and even something as simple as lifting their computer screens up higher so they don’t look down can actually improve their energy levels because if we look down all day this can contribute to lower energy.
Provide Opportunities for Exercise
It is one of those things we all know we should do, but in an office environment, seldom make time for it. What can you do in your office environment to improve your employees’ energy levels when they are on a break? Sometimes the last thing they would want to do would be to go for a run around the block, so why don’t you think about incorporating little ways to boost their energy levels? For example, a tool like isometrics can be excellent for improving blood flow, increasing strength, and not breaking into a sweat.
Encourage Employees to Manage Their Energy
If you have employees who work from home, we should encourage employees to not just manage their time, but their energy as well. This can be harder to quantify because it involves taking control of a number of different factors such as workday rituals and emotions. We should invest in all dimensions of our employees’ lives so they can build their energy levels but also renew themselves systematically.
A tougher thing to achieve but if you look at improving your employees’ energy levels, you will see the effects on every aspect of their work life.
