Autumnal box swap with Lisa’s Notebook

Over the last few months, I’ve seen loads of my favourite bloggers collaborating with each other on posts and quite frankly guys… I felt a little left out *wipes tear*. I kid but seriously, I’ve seen a ton of blogger collaborations and I wanted in because they look fun and it’s always a chance to support another blogger at the same time so win, win in my opinion! Lisa from Lisa’s Notebook, who’s became a good blogging friend over the last year asked me if I’d like to collaborate in October so of course I said yes and of course I suggested a Autumn-themed collaboration.

Online friendships: The pros of being social & making friends online *

One of the top things that people say about blogging – or being on social media in general – is that it’s a great way to make new friends and meet new people. Look at almost any “Reasons I Love Blogging” post and I guarantee at least one of the points mentioned will be surrounding online friendships or acquaintances they’ve made along the way. If I wrote that post right now, I know that would certainly be one of my top reasons why I love doing what I do. Then there’s the argument of “Are Online Friendships Real?” which I don’t really have to answer because it’s pretty obvious that they are. At least in my experience anyway.

Make a statement with Cardology *

Buying gifts for people is something I pride myself on. I always ensure that I look for something which is personal or a little different from the usual ‘stuff’. You know what I mean, a smelly set from Boots or a box of chocolates. There’s nothing wrong with those things of course – I’d never say no to a box of choccies! – but I like to put a lot of thought and effort into everything I buy anyone. Which often results in a lot of stressful scrolling and hectic brainstorming! Greetings cards can be just as special as the gifts. I always opt for a greeting card that matches the person I’m buying for. My dad will receive a funny one, my mum will receive a personalised one probably with a picture of our dog on – you get the gist!

July Wrap-up: Books, Best Friends and Bits & Bobs

Well howdy folks! Hello and welcome to my July wrap-up! I hope you’ve all had a lovely July. I don’t know about you but the weather outside as I’m writing this feels more like Autumn! Although I’m not complaining, I’m not one for heat! So let’s crack on, here’s what’s been going down in July…

What I’ve Received in July…

Book-wise, I didn’t actually receive or buy an awful lot in July. I got 2 kindly sent from publishers which were In The Name of Love by Patrick Smith (thanks to Head of Zeus) and The Way We Were by Sinéad Moriarty (thanks to Penguin). I also bought Pride and Prejudice as a little bit of research for my own work in progress. I’ll say no more, because I don’t want to give anything away! I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway over on Pixie Bebe for a craft and paper cutting kit! I love anything crafty so can’t wait to give this a go!
