If you know me or follow my blog you might be aware that I’m a huge advocate for self-care. Self-care is a term I’ve only really come to know (and love) since starting blogging. Before joining the big ol’ blogosphere, I obviously knew we had to take care of ourselves, take time for ourselves and focus on our physical and mental wellbeing – but I didn’t realize quite how important and crucial it was. Especially the mental side of the coin.
I’ve never really done a monthly favourites blog post before, I’ve always just done monthly round ups or books I’ve been loving but I’ve never wrote about a variety of things that are making me happy or that I’m enjoying in any given month. Well, being as I’m blogging every day this month and am quickly running out of ideas, now is as good a time as any to do one. So here’s some stuff I like at the moment. And I’ll try and make it more interesting than that opening paragraph.
I’ve never been a huge fan of YouTube and I’ve never bothered to really watch people, follow people or get to know some of the more “well-known” YouTuber’s. Until around last year. YouTube was never something for me – I couldn’t think of anything worse than talking to a camera and spending hours editing and oh my brain fuzz – and it still isn’t but my YouTube watching habits have grown immensely since discovering – albeit years later than everyone else – some amazing women (and men) on YouTube who I enjoy watching immensely. I seem to have a YouTuber for ever sort of mood and ones I tend to turn to.
Never say never and all that jazz but yeah, I will never be a YouTuber. I admire YouTubers. I admire anyone who can sit there and talk to a camera, alone, for hours without feeling hella awks. I’ve tried it in the past – in fact I filmed a wholeeee video, get me. I showed one person and that was it, it was never to be seen again. I’m liking watching YouTuber’s more and more recently and I now have a handful who I enjoy watching regularly but it just isn’t for me. Here’s why.
