I enter a hella lot of giveaways on Twitter – usually in the dark of the night where most of my followers are asleep so I don’t annoy them with my obsessive giveaway tweeting! And a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win one! (I’d hadn’t won anything in a while so this was a nice boost!) I won a little goodie bag from Tropic Skin Care, a natural, vegan and cruelty-free skincare range that are super duper good for your skin and have all the antioxidants, vitamins and thangs you need! I’ve never tried them before and I honestly can’t say I’ve ever tried a brand of skincare who are so natural and, well, good?

I received a couple of skincare goodies in my bag and the first one was a sculpting palette. Now, I am rubbish at contouring and just make-up in general. I don’t use a sponge to put my foundation on with or blend properly so I was a little nervous in using this at first because in the past when I’ve tried to contour well let’s just say I failed. Miserably. The tropic sculpting palette I actually got on really well with. My first attempt was a disaster, let’s not even go there, but after some practise I realised that this was actually a really gentle and subtle contouring kit. The darker shade wasn’t too dark and the coral blush was so pretty. I think with some better brushes, this could be my new favourite make-up product, ever!

Next was the Tropic Superfood Hand Therapy and I am one who is useless with hand-care. Which is ridiculous because my hands always get dry and itchy. The Superfoods hand Therapy smells gorgeous, really fruity and citrus-y! It’s a decent size and would last me forever being as I have such tiny hands. I’m usually reluctant with hand cream because of how sticky it usually is and how long it usually takes to sink into the skin and you can’t touch your laptop or your phone until it does well I put some of this on 30 seconds ago and I’m already typing away. It instantly made my hands look and feel softer, wasn’t sticky at all and wasn’t thick and heavy either – I found it was light and a bit foamy. My mum loves hand cream so no doubt she’ll be pinching this off of me a few times.

Next is the super cute Tropic Lip Love Balm which I absolutely adore. It’s so dinky and perfect to carry around with you. Again, it smells absolutely gorgeous and although it takes quite a lot to cover your lips, once it’s on, it stays on for a decent amount of time and is super hydrating. Another thing I wanted to mention is that I love the colour of the packaging and the design, not only of the lip balm but of all their products. They have a really professional and smart appearance and I like that. 10 outta 10 for the lip balm.

And finally, the Tropic Tamanu Rescue Healing Balm. I honestly didn’t have a clue what this was at first, especially the ‘tamanu’ part but this nifty little pocket sized balm is to help soothe skin irritation, chapped lips, insect bites or cuts. Who knew one tiny little product could do all of that? I’m super prone to insect bites so next time I get one, I’ll definitely be giving this a try.

I’m so happy with my giveaway prizes: They’re all things that come in handy and I would definitely use on a daily or weekly basis. I love the ethics behind this company – the natural ingredients and the cruelty-free nature in which they product their products is definitely a massive thumbs up from me. Although not a company I had heard of before, they’re definitely somewhere I’d consider buying from in the future!

  1. Always great to read independent reviews. I too am a Tropic Ambassador, joined at the end of February & I absolutely love the products. It’s difficult to get the name out there but once people try the products they generally love them. The range is small in comparison to other off the shelf companies but that’s done for a reason – the skincare & body care is freshly made so clients get products at their optimum. Vegan Society & Cruelty Free International certified, the ethics and ethos of the company are spot on too. Hopefully you’ll get chance to try some other products – check out our full range http://www.tropicskincare.co.uk/shop/yvettestone – they’re gorrrrgus 💚🐰💕
