I love working with brands and PR people; on a whole, I’ve had a wonderfully positive experience in my time as a blogger and rarely have I had any negative encounters when reviewing products, doing sponsored posts and working with PR’s and brands. Having a good working relationship with PR’s and brands can be so beneficial for the both of you! I’ve recently been working with Lauren from every1 (see my previous posts here and here) and she contacted me last month about an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
Now you know that I’m not a beauty blogger. I may not be able to do make-up very well or know all the latest trends but… I do wash my hair. And I do use body lotion after a shower occasionally. So luckily today, I’m reviewing those very things! I was very kindly sent some products from Urtekram‘s new Nordic Berries range of products. All of which are packed full of vitamins and antioxidants from traditional Nordic berries like sea buckthorn, blueberries, cranberries and more. The brand are also organic cruelty free and vegan!
How you liking my guest post week so far? Yes? Good! Me too! I have another post for you today from Zara all about how she cleared up her skin after breaking out with the worst acne she’d ever had. Feeling like you can relate? Yep, me too. My skin is awful right now due to hormones so I’ll definitely be taking some advice from Zara’s post.
I’m not known for being particularly knowledgeable about make-up or beauty products. I don’t know what I’m doing with half the things I own, I can’t contour and I still apply my foundation with my fingers. I’m also, notoriously awful at looking after my own skin, never having committed to a full skincare routine. Over the past few years, my skin has been worse than when I was 16 (probably because I keep applying my freaking foundation with my fingers but hey ho) but I’ve just not been in the position to splash out on new, fancy products which may or may not even work. My mum has seen how much my skin has been bothering me and she surprised me with some Liz Earle products for my birthday a few weeks ago and today I wanted to talk about these products and let you know how I’m getting on with my brand new skincare routine!
10 days ago, it was my 24th birthday (I wrote a post here) and I’ve never done a birthday present haul before due to a fear of it appearing show-offy or something but I figured it’s my blog and I can post what the hell I like. Yes, it’s taken me 3 and a half years of blogging to actually realise that. As I said in my birthday post (which you should have read by now, if not I’m totes disappointed), I’m not a huge fan of my birthday and I didn’t ask for much. In fact, of all my presents I actually only asked for 2 of them, the rest were surprises which I am very thankful for.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not becoming a beauty blogger any time soon but I do love trying new products. If anything, sometimes I like to hear the opinion from non-beauty bloggers about products over those that work in the industry – just to hear a different point of view. I was in contact with Steph on Twitter and she kindly sent me some product samples to try out and review. The products are from Forever and are all Aloe Vera based, so super natural and super healthy and they came in super cute little packets that reminded me of those you would get in a hotel.
I enter a hella lot of giveaways on Twitter – usually in the dark of the night where most of my followers are asleep so I don’t annoy them with my obsessive giveaway tweeting! And a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win one! (I’d hadn’t won anything in a while so this was a nice boost!) I won a little goodie bag from Tropic Skin Care, a natural, vegan and cruelty-free skincare range that are super duper good for your skin and have all the antioxidants, vitamins and thangs you need! I’ve never tried them before and I honestly can’t say I’ve ever tried a brand of skincare who are so natural and, well, good?
When choosing the soaps I wanted, I wanted two that were going to smell vastly different. I chose a “Citronella and Lavender” smell and a “Tea Tree and Witch Hazel” because apparently those ingredients are good for your skin – so my mum says. And mother know best. Anyway, they arrived quickly and I loved the packaging – very eau natural and authentic. Continue reading
