GIFTED | I’m very flaky when it comes to skincare. I’ll go through hardcore phases where every product under the sun goes on my face. Then the following week I’m like, “what is moisturizer?” This may be due to the fact that due to the contraceptive pill I’m on, my skin is pretty bad. As side effects go, it could be worse but nobody wants the skin of a 14 year old in their mid-20’s. So it does nag at me. So the PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device really was like the Fairy God Mother showing up in my life one day.

PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device

I’ve seen the PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device (as well as other brands and models of these ultra hip new cleansing wand things) around the blogosphere quite a bit. And it was actually through Lisa’s Notebook’s review of hers that I was contacted and asked if I’d like to review one myself.

So hey, if that doesn’t encourage you to comment on more blogs, I don’t know what will.

I’ve always heard good things and quite frankly, your good old fashion way of washing your face isn’t cutting it for me anymore. Nothing helps my skin. Cheap products. Expensive products. Vegan products. Nothing. So I’ve just kinda accepted the fact that for as long as I don’t want to get knocked up, my skin is going to be crap.

Until the PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device came into my life. But I’ll start from the beginning.

Packaging & how to use

The device comes neatly packaged and comes with no extra bells and whistles. Literally all you need to get going is one AA battery. Swift and efficient. 10/10.

The device itself is incredibly easy to use – even I could work that out. You simply wet your face and apply cleanser as you usually would but instead of rubbing it in with your hands fully, you let the PMD Clean Device do that for you, using the bristly side. It comes with 4 modes of different speeds and patterns (yes, like a vibrator) and is recommended to move it in circular motions over your face.

Then simply wash and dry both your face and the device of any excess cleanser and water when you’re done and that’s it. The device itself can be fully washed and it also stands up so doesn’t need to be stored away anywhere special. Just pop it back on the side as you would a toothbrush.

There’s also the flip side which can be used to massage in serums and creams.

How does it work?

Using SonicGlow Technology, the PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device breaks down dirt and oil from your pores using 7,000 vibrations a minute. The silicone makes it odor-resistant, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and waterproof and it’s suitable for all skin types.

What do I think?

As I mentioned, my skin is crap. I get new spots, bumps and redness on my chin area more or less every single day. But within days of starting to use the PMD Clean Smart Cleansing Device (and only using the products I normally use on my skin, nothing special) I started to notice a difference!

My skin visibly looked a lot calmer. And I definitely wasn’t getting new spots pop up every day like I had previously. I use the device twice daily, when I wash my face and I have absolutely loved this new addition to my skincare and self-care routine. Using this when you wake up and before you go to bed really does feel like you’re giving yourself a little massage. A little extra boost of self-care.

I’ll 100% be using this for the foreseeable future. I love the ease of use and also the colour – it comes in a few lovely colours but I’m personally so glad I got this one as turquoise is one of my favourite colours! They’re all incredibly aesthetically pleasing.

You could say this is one of my favourite things I’ve ever been sent through my blog. It’s definitely something that will get a lot of use from me (and my Mum who’s hijacked it). If you’re looking for something that will take your skincare game to that next level, this is it.

  1. This looks so cute and sounds like it’s actually worth while! Thank you for being so in depth with your review! ♡

  2. I’m the same in that I go through phases of using lots of skincare products and using nothing at all! Either way, my skin has never been perfect. This device sounds like a gamechanger and I would love to try one!

  3. Oooh! I like the sound of the clean smart cleansing device. It looks less invasive than the typical brushes with the bristles. It is pretty cool that it removes the dirt from your pores. It is great that it worked well on you – thanks for sharing your experience!

  4. I’ve always wanted a cleansing device like this as I have quite dry skin so I like to get a bit of an exfoliation regularly, but as I mentioned to you on Instagram I’ve always been put off by the bristles on most of them! This looks so much more gentle and kind to your skin though. I also love that you can apply your serum with it! Genius! And you’re right, it’s so pretty to look at to. Seeing as I’m approaching 30 I definitely need to take a bit more care of my skin so I’ll definitely have to consider one of these!

  5. This is such a great idea! I have quite exasperating skin as well. Can you use it just with water or would that not work? Even cleanser makes me break out – once I stopped using it my face cleared significantly, which I feel if the opposite of what it is supposed to do…

  6. I’ve used other brands similar to this but they don’t have the long hand, which personally I think would be so much better. I think it would enable you to be able to use it a lot better on your face. 🙂

  7. Aw, Jenny, thank you so much for the shoutout! I was so pleased to see you received one of these fab devices, they are amazing, aren’t they? I still use mine every day and, as you say, it’s a total skincare gamechanger. So simple but so effective. I’m so glad you love yours too 🙂 xxx
