Although “wedding season” is technically over, with a lot of people opting for a Summer wedding over the other seasons throughout the year, I think Autumn is a beautiful time of year for a wedding. The weather is cooler, the leaves are changing and think about all the cute Autumnal decor you could have to decorate your wedding venue?

I don’t have any weddings to go to any time soon, sadly. The last one was last Summer and it was a very Summery wedding, with the ceremony being outside and sunflowers gracing every table at dinner. And of course all the guests were wearing their Summery clothes. Me included, having opted for a simple pencil skirt and vest with a light lacy cardigan if I got chilly (I didn’t).

I think I’d be much more in my element in regards to fashion choices if I was at a Autumnal wedding though. Is there anything better than Autumnal fashion? I think you have much more freedom with your choices as you can layer and use different garments and textures without getting too hot too.

So, attending an Autumn wedding this year? Here are my top fashion picks for wedding guests at an Autumnal wedding:

Burgundy colours

Oh I love burgundy. As soon as Autumn rolls around I turn into a burgundy fiend and suddenly ALL my clothes are burgundy! It’s the ultimate Autumnal colour and luckily, it’s a beautiful colour too. So a gorgeous burgundy dress or skirt would be an amazing option for an Autumnal wedding.

A pant suit

As a woman, I’ve never owned a suit. However I am OBSESSED with trousers at the moment and rarely wear anything else. I think women look incredible in suits and if the weather is getting a bit cooler, then a suit could be a great option for women at an Autumnal wedding. This is definitely the option I’d choose if I had one to go to this year!

Mixing it up with jewellery

Gold jewellery with Autumn fashion looks incredible – especially as we’re at the time of year when oranges, golds and browns are the most prominent colours. And a wedding is the perfect opportunity to really showcase your best jewellery! The Pomegranate bracelet collections are a great place to start if you want really unique and beautiful jewellery to add to your wedding outfit.

Tulle skirts

Tulle skirts are the cutest design, don’t you think? And although of course they can be worn at a wedding at any time of year paired with a tight fitted jumper or a long sleeved top and heels would make a really sweet and stylish Autumn wedding outfit.

Utilize your jacket

If it’s an Autumn wedding then you’ll probably need some sort of jacket with you because the nights are getting chillier. But this can also be a great opportunity to add to your Autumn wedding outfit and use the type of jacket you choose to make your outfit even better. So think about your outfit and which style jacket will suit that particular outfit.

Are you attending an Autumn wedding this year? What would be your top picks for your wedding guest outfit?

  1. I’ve never been to an Autumn wedding but, if I ever choose to get married, I’d have one myself (probably on or around Oct 31st 😉). Burgundy is my favourite fall fashion colour too, so I’d probably wear it in some way.

  2. I haven’t been to an Autumn wedding before, but I can imagine it being such a pretty time of the year for one. I am going to one next Autumn in 2020, although I’m the maid of honour so I’ll be going with whatever the bride wants as her colours – but a burgundy dress would look so pretty <3

  3. Oooft this post has me picturing the most beautiful burgundy suit, with lots of layered gold necklaces and bracelets. I love autumn and the fashion, you’ve absolutely nailed it with wedding guest outfit ideas!

  4. I would love to attend a wedding in the fall season! I can only imagine how stunning it would be, especially an outdoors one! I love burgundy too, and can’t wait to start wearing it more!

  5. I love the idea of an autumn wedding, and if I could predict the weather then I would totally have one! I agree with you about trouser suits as well – I’ve owned a few and used to love wearing them. So much less restrictive than skirt suits!

  6. I would love an autumn wedding. I don’t handle heat very well, so I would never survive a summer wedding, lol.
My last wedding (The joys of being divorced, you get to do it all over again, and learn from past mistakes) was a winter wedding. Pro tip, try not to schedule your winter wedding on the one day there’s a snow storm -_-
    Thanks for sharing <3

  7. I think I need to write more fashion posts like this because I do love! I may be fashionably challenged but I love the look of mustard yellow dresses with a pop of another colour! Boots are my lifeline and a cosy coat if it’s an outdoor wedding!

  8. I went to an Autumn wedding last year and it was a blast! I love the fall colors and the cooler temperature is definitely a lot nicer than the heat (IMO). Also, fall weddings are cheaper and I would be all about saving that money!
