I don’t necessarily think you need a new year to implement new strategies into different areas of your life. Heck you don’t even need a new week – we can all decide to improve ourselves every morning we wake up. But I think the final few months of the year is a GREAT time to work on an action plan for your business for the New Year. So you can go into 2020 with a clear vision on what you want for your business in the next 12 months.

Leveling up your business can present itself in many different ways and it’s important to look at the big picture when thinking about how to take your business further. Owning a business is hard work – whether it’s an online business or a physical business such as a shop or a cafe.

And with all that hard work, of course we want to make our businesses a success and keep moving forward and progressing. I’ve been self employed for around 5 years now and I used to own my own online book promotional business, which I was constantly adapting to my current situation.

Today we’re going to chat about ways to level up your business in the New Year and how to prepare for that in the remaining months of 2019:

Make a 12 month plan and set goals

Oh I love a goal. I think goals are so important to have in business (and in life in general). Goals can massively push you forward and motivate you to keep working and moving forward. So above all else, I think the most important thing you can do to level up your business next year, is to set some goals and make a plan NOW; everything you want from your business, how you’re going to achieve those things and when you want to achieve them by.

Consider serviced office rental

This one will obviously depend on the type of business you have. But if you require an office space for your business, then considering serviced office rental might be something to look into for next year. Check out this Click offices London guide for more information on serviced office rental, what they entail and how to start the rental process.

Focus on your social media strategy

Social media is MASSIVE for business. All businesses. With everything online these days, you need to be utilizing your social media platforms and your social media strategy for managing and promoting your business because social media promotion can have huge implication on sales, reviews and reputation.

Or consider hiring a social media manager

But if social media promotion isn’t your strongest point, that’s okay because you could also consider hiring a social media manager to do all that stuff for you. Social media managers are incredible at what they do and they really know how to use your businesses strength to promote and advertise for you. You don’t have to do everything by yourself!

Have a re-brand

Branding within a business can be one of the most important aspects. It helps people recognize you, as you. They’ll see your logo or your graphics and instantly know it’s you and your business they’re looking it. Why wouldn’t you want that for your business? With branding, it’s important to look at things like colors and fonts as well as the message your’re putting out and ensuring it’s consistent. Not happy? Have a re-brand!

Think of new and innovative ideas

All customers want something amazing and potentially something that hasn’t been done before. So within your plan for leveling up your business, it’s time to try and think of new, exciting and innovative ideas to produce and release in the new year. Make a big deal of it; use your new social media strategy to kick up a buzz for your new products or services!

Do you own a business? How are you planning on leveling up in 2020? Do you have any plans in place?

  1. Thanks for this post Jenny, I agree with you, goals motivate you to keep moving forward. Besides, goals are important not just for business, but also for our personal life. On the other hand, I like your tip about hiring someone expert in social media to boost our business, in case we don’t have the know how.
