I love subscription boxes – heck I did a whole gift guide dedicated to them this year! I love the idea of pre-treating yourself every month and you all know I’m big on self care and the notion that we DESERVE to treat ourselves. Subscription boxes are a great way to do that – particularly beauty boxes. It’s like a gentle reminder to take some time for yourself through your letterbox every month.

Today I’m featuring the December Roccabox, which in my opinion, has a perfect compilation of products for this time of year. This box is all about the party season and helping you look and feel you best through the festivities. Make-up, hair care, skin care and more, it’s the ideal self care box.

Roccabox start at just £10.00 per month for subscriptions, however you can buy a 3, 6 or 12 monthly subscription too. Although I’m aware I didn’t pay for this box myself, the products in the December edit come to a whopping £77.50 – so as beauty boxes go, the value of this one (for the products you receive) is probably one of the best.

I loved the range of different types of products in this box, there wasn’t too much of one thing and everything was a decent size. The December box features 2 full-sized products but even the others contain a really good amount of product. Anyway, let’s see what’s inside! Spoiler alert!

Luna by Luna Gold Eyeshadow (full size): £12.86

This is a pretty small eye-shadow for the price of it, so if I had bought this box myself, I’d have been pretty happy to receive this. Small as it might be, it’s a gorgeous colour. Just perfect for this time of year and it’s the exact sort of colour I probably would have chosen for myself too. The coverage and pigment is pretty good – it’s a very buildable shade and you could do some really pretty festive make-up looks with this.

Steve Laurant Lip Gloss in ‘Cafe’ (full size): £18.87

The rose gold packaging of this sold me before I’d even opened it. I haven’t heard of this brand before but as someone who wouldn’t spend almost £20 on one lip gloss, this is an amazing addition. Each box will contain the gloss in either ‘Cafe’ or ‘Peaches’. I received ‘Cafe’ and I’m SO GLAD I did because it’s the most beautiful pinky neutral colour. I think the texture is quite creamy for a gloss but I’m not complaining!

Dr Botanicals Pomegranate Regenerating Sleeping Mask (30ml): £12

My skin has been TERRIBLE lately. I mean like, I look 16 again. So any skincare products I can try get a thumbs up from me. The cold, the lack of sleep and the excessive plans and busy-ness can play havoc with your skin this time of year so this sleeping mask is a welcome addition to this box. It has a really lovely but subtle scent and I can’t wait to give my skin some TLC with this 2/3 times a week.

Philip Kingsley Body Building Weightless Shampoo (60ml): £7.80

As I’ve literally JUST (as in, yesterday) had my hair cut short, this product came at a cracking time for me. I haven’t done anything to my hair in months – in fact, I’m not even sure how to style it anymore. But it’s finally at a length in which I can add volume, so I’m definitely going to be experimenting with products to help with that. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this brand and I know I’ll use all of this.

Bowe Organics Lash Oil (10ml): £19.99 RRP relates to full sized products

I’ve never heard of lash oil before (shows how out of touch with beauty I am, doesn’t it) but I’d be very keen to give this a shot. I don’t have great eyelashes. They’re a bit short and all over the place and it takes a lot of mascara for them to look half decent. So anything to combat that is a yes from me. I’ll be introducing this oil into my night-time skincare routine for sure!

Yeti & the Fox Good Night, Great Day Capsules (1 sachet): £5.99

This is the only product in this box that I won’t use because I don’t drink alcohol. But for anyone that does, I can imagine this would be a great addition to their box, especially this time of year! Yeti and the Fox create gluten free, soy free, non-GMO capsules (suitable for vegetarians) that help combat that hangover. You take 2 capsules after you start drinking and one when you get home and the active ingredients help you wake up feeling less wooly-headed!

Overall, I’m absolutely thrilled with the products in this box and I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of them. Have you tried Roccabox? If so, what did you think? Or have you tried any products featured in Decembers box?
