Last month I reviewed Lynsey James’s new book, The Season of Hopes and Dreams (which you can find my review of here) and today I’m thrilled to also be taking part in her blog tour. This book was really fun and light-hearted and also covered some really important topics and situations. One of those was a bucket list, that the main character, Cleo, had made after she lost her way in an accident and her dream of being a dancer was shattered. I’m hosting a guest post from Lynsey today where she’s sharing her very own bucket list! You can also find information about the book and a giveaway to win a copy at the bottom!

But this summer is going to be different. Life is turning around for Cleo! Maybe it’s the invitation from her childhood bully to their high-school reunion that’s shocked her out of a ten-year slump. Or joining Carb Counters and finally starting to shed the weight she’d piled on during her recovery – or maybe it’s catching the eye of her gorgeous personal trainer!
Whatever the answer, this is going to be a summer she never forgets… watch out world, Cleo Jones is finally fighting back!
Throughout July, I was very lucky to receive some amazing things in the post. As a blogger, as I’m sure a lot of you will understand, post time can be your favourite time of day and the postman can become your best friend. I get along really well with my postman now as he’s always bringing me parcels! Anyway, I worked with some great brands and received some amazing books in the post this past month so I wanted to share them with you here along with some other goodies! I’m also thinking of maybe doing one of these ‘stuff hauls’ every month! What do you think?
I’m all for celebrating milestones. In blogging, in business, in life, damn it if you’ve done something you’re proud of, reached a goal or milestone then you should sure as hell celebrate that – however big or small. I’ve done that since I started blogging and 4 years down the line, I don’t plan on stopping. So… today I would like to celebrate hitting 2,500 unique blog followers. Eeeeek! That may seem like a miniscule number to some, a huge number to others; we’re all on different paths and different points in our blogging “careers” but I definitely believe that we should celebrate our own and other people’s achievements. And for me, hitting 2.5k blog followers is an achievement. Especially after so mny blogging breaks and periods of not knowing whether I even wanted to continue blogging.
When I started book blogging, over 2 years ago now, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t really fully understand what blogging – dedicated blogging – entailed and I wasn’t aware of how big the whole blogging community was. I’ve met a ton of people online; bloggers and authors. Some are acquaintances, some I no longer speak to, some I don’t get along with and others who have become firm friends. Not only did I not understand how many people there were to meet in the blogging world, I also didn’t understand quite how important having online friends would be to me.
I am absolutely thrilled to be taking part and to have organised the cover reveal for Lynsey James’ second book, “The Broken Hearts Book Club” today and I was even more thrilled when I received the cover and saw how absolutely gorgeous it is! I loved “Just The Way You Are” – the story and the cover and you can always rely on Carina for a stunning cover! So… Without further ado, here is the cover for “The Broken Hearts Book Club“… Continue reading
I was tagged by the lovely Leanne to take part in this tag, ‘8 Photos of Happiness’. I thought it was such a beautiful and uplifting idea that I had to give it a go. Just 8 photos with a short description of why it was a happy moment. So simple but effective and sometime, photos really do speak a thousand words.
This tag was originally created by Ariel’s Little Corner of the Internet and the intention is simple. Share 8 photos that represent a moment, object, place or feeling that makes you happy. Then tag others to share their own photos! So lo and behold, here are my 8 photos!

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll have become aware by now that I’m currently working on my own novel. I know what you’re thinking, “Sigh. Another blogger who’s writing a book” and whilst yes, a lot of bloggers start writing books I think it’s great that so many people have aspirations to write. I’ve not mentioned it properly on my blog yet but I feel that now is the right time to do so and although I’m still in the early stages, I’m extremely excited about it.
I started writing this particular book over a year ago. I made a good start and was super enthusiastic about it but then I crashed a burned. I realised that writing wasn’t for me and that I should stick to what I know; reviewing other people’s books. That was until my best friend Lynsey James got her publishing deal when I realised that I probably could do this, if I set my mind to it. I could finish a manuscript and it didn’t matter how long it took me as long as I didn’t stop, I would get there eventually. Continue reading
