Here are 6 fun date ideas for couples in Wiltshire:
STEAM – The Museum of the Great Western Railway
My boyfriend and I used to go on a lot of trips to the Severn Valley Railway – pre COVID. The whole experience was so lovely and relaxing. Whilst he loved the trains, I loved the relaxing element of the trip and was able to really sit back, relax and enjoy my book or some music for a while. If you’re a train loving couple in the Wiltshire area, the STEAM Museum of the Great Western Railway would be an excellent choice for you!
Stonehenge
How about seeing one of the world’s most famous sites together on one of your dates? Stonehenge needs no introduction but a trip to these ancient ruins could make a wonderful, interesting and unique date idea for you and your boo! Combine it with a guided tour and perhaps dinner afterwards and you’ve got yourself a wonderful date!
Stourhead Gardens
Arguably one of the most beautiful places in Wiltshire, a long Summer (or Autumn) day in Stourhead Gardens would make a mega romantic date idea! If you’re a photographer, this is a great place to take your camera as well. And don’t forget to pack a picnic basket of all your favourite goodies too!
Longleat
If you’re heading to Longleat for the day, then you’re definitely going to want to go early and make a whole day of it! From stately homes to the safari experience of Longleat Safari Park, there really is something for everyone here. Perhaps upgrade to a whole date weekend and stay in a local hotel to make the most of it!
Swindon Museum and Art Gallery
Fancy something a bit more cultured? Try Swindon Museum and Art Gallery! You’re getting two for one, with it essentially being two attractions. In the museum, you can find yourself looking at Jurassic fossils and even mummified hands from Ancient Egypt! Head to the gallery to check out some beautiful work from a handful of famous artists too.
Wyvern Theatre
I love going to the theatre and I think it’s such a wonderful idea for couples to spend some quality time together! the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon has a range of showings from comedies, musical, dance and more. So whatever tickles your fancy. You could also head out to dinner before the show at one of the nearby restaurants.
