Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Pancake Day – yay! Whether or not you’re going to be giving up anything for Lent or follow the religious connotations of the season, it’s always okay to celebrate pancake day in my opinion. So today I’m going to be sharing 9 mouth watering pancake recipes for you to try this week!

mouth watering pancake recipes

Or any week of the year. Pancakes are certainly not only reserved for Pancake Day.

I really like pancakes and have them most mornings for breakfast. I enjoy scotch pancakes, topped with yoghurt, fruit (mostly berries), honey and chia seeds. It’s a really yummy and filling breakfast and always leaves me satisfied.

I also tried making my own pancakes during lockdown when my regular appetite went out of the window and I only fancied sweet food for dinner for like 2 weeks. Chocolate pancakes with ice cream on the menu, anyone?

I did one of these wrap up posts last year for National Banana Day and I loved sharing other people’s yummy recipes for inspiration.

I’m nowhere near a good enough cook to come up with 9 of my own mouth watering pancake recipes, so it’s much easier to share them from those who actually know what they’re doing!

So, let’s check out these 9 mouth watering pancake recipes to try for Pancake Day (or any time of year!):

Pancake Cereal Recipe:

This really unique pancake themed recipe is from Caroline at Enviroline blog, and it’s a super easy recipe to do but also allows you to get creative with toppings and additional extras you might want to put with the pancakes! You could use yoghurt and fruit, Nutella or honey. These would be a great option for kids, too!

Pumpkin Pie Spice Pancakes:

This next recipe is from someone that I’d always trust with recipes because their food content looks SO good! You’ll find this Pumpkin Pie Spice Pancake recipe on The Grumpy Olive and this is just the perfect recipe for the colder months and when Autumn is approaching, which sounds like a long way away but it’ll be here before we know it!

Traditional English Pancake Recipe:

Pancakes can come in all shapes and sizes, depending on your preference. Traditional English pancakes are typically a lot thinner and more crepe-like and are obviously really common types of pancakes in the UK. If you want to try your hand at a traditional English pancake, this recipe from Elle Grace Deveson is the one for you!

Japanese Fluffy Pancakes With Almond Milk and Vanilla:

From England to Japan now with the next one of these mouth watering pancake recipes to try! I’m sure you’ve seen the viral videos of those SUPER big and bouncy Japnese pancakes. Well if you fancy trying to make your own, you’ll definitely want to check out this next pancake recipe, with almond milk and vanilla, from My Paleo Marin!

Overnight Sourdough Pancakes:

If you want to prepare pancakes for a super yummy breakfast in the morning but want to get half of the prep done the night before, then these super light, fluffy and moist overnight sourdough pancakes from Butternut and Sage is the perfect option for you! Sweetened with honey and vanilla, these are the perfect weekend breakfast treat.

Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes:

You can’t beat chocolate chips in, well, just about anything! So if you’re a chocolate lover, then these chocolate chip banana pancakes will be right up your street. Drugstore Divas shares one of the mouth watering pancake recipes which aren’t your simply 2 ingredient banana pancakes, they take a little love but will be so worth it!

Vegan Spiced Apple and Oat Pancakes:

The amazing thing about pancakes is that it’s so easy to create vegan options for them! This vegan spiced apple and oat pancake recipe from Captain Bobcat sounds absolutely amazing; they’re light and fluffy and lack no flavour. The spiced apple and oat ingredients make this a great Autumnal breakfast option too.

Quick and Easy Vegan Pancake Recipe (No Banana):

Another Vegan option now but this one is without banana. You get a lot of vegan pancake recipes which contain banana but that’s on the assumption that all vegans like bananas, which obviously isn’t true! If you’re looking for the perfect banana-free vegan pancake recipe, then this one from Incredibusy is for you.

Vanilla Purple Sweet Potato Pancakes:

And finally something a little different but another one of these mouth watering pancake recipes to try is this vanilla purpose sweet potato pancake recipe from Strength & Sunshine. The purple sweet potato gives these pancakes such a beautifully vibrant colour and are packed full of goodness!

Pancake Day is officially tomorrow but of course you can eat yummy pancakes any time of year and I hope these 9 recipes gave you some ideas for recipes you can try for the whole family!

Whether you prefer fat and fluffy pancakes, light traditional British pancakes or a Vegan option, I feel like there’s something for everyone here to enjoy.

Which recipe of these 9 are you keen to try? Do you have any mouth watering pancake recipes of your own to share?
