Not having to cook is always a popular dinner option for me. As much as I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes and foods, not having to cook and being able to sit back, relax and let the food come to you is always a nice treat. Whether that’s a quick takeaway from my favourite Chinese (seriously, it is the BEST Chinese takeaway in the UK), a cute little café in the park or a slightly posher (but not too posh) restaurant for a lavish 3-course meal. Most cities are a hub for restaurants and places to eat and living close to London, there’s a restaurant or takeout literally everywhere you look. But of course not all dining experiences are positive, we’ve all been left disappointed by a meal that’s not been entirely up to scratch (or if you’re really unlucky, been given food poisoning from it!)
I don’t know about you but I’ve always found bathrooms a really calming place to be. I feel like I can relax in a bathroom and as someone that suffers from anxiety, having places to go where I know I’ll feel calmer is hugely important to me. No matter what the situation, if you’re with a big group of people and need 5 minutes peace and quiet, the bathroom is probably the most popular place most of us will head to. Because a lot of us need a time out from socialisation every now and again. The bathroom in your home can certainly be one of the most peaceful and calming rooms of the house and personally, I love that time in the morning and in the evening where I head into the bathroom to wash and just be with myself and my thoughts.
Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to be buying or renting my own home at the moment but I trust that when I become a millionaire sometime soon, I will be. I’m just kidding but we all know how difficult it can be to get on the property ladder right now, with house prices going up and up and up and the hope for young people ever moving out of their parents house getting slimmer and slimmer. But obviously, not impossible. Lots of young people do manage it and that’s great. Although I’m fairly happy with my position right now, I’ve always had a love for home decor and home interiors. You should see how long I spend designing houses on The Sims! So designing and decorating a place of my own is something I often dream about. So, if money was no issue, here are some of my dream home interiors!
I am my mother’s daughter in that I love candles. Big, small, scented, un-scented, Yankee, own-brand – you name it, I love going into a shop and sticking my face in a bunch of gorgeous candles. Like, when they’re un-lit, of course. We have more candles in our house than we know what to do with but when Candles With Love contacted me asking if I’d like to review some of their candles, I wasn’t going to say no, was I? I like to think I have enough experience in candle sniffing to be a reliable judge of what makes a decent candle or not.
