AD | It’s safe to say I’ve been on a pretty incredible Yoga journey over the past couple of years. Yoga has become my life-line. My savior. My coping method. And my safe space both within myself and physically on the mat. I never thought I could love Yoga as much as I do. But really, truly, it means the world to me.

Finding Yoga changed my life. Literally. I started dabbling in Yoga when I was in the midst of the worst period of anxiety I’ve ever had in my life. It started off as just “something to do to try and help”. But slowly over time, my Yoga journey turned into one of the most important things in my life.
I currently use Yoga With Adriene religiously and you can read here about how much YWA means to me on a more personal level. And although I totally vibe with Adriene and her way of teaching and probably won’t ever stray away from that, I would still love to enhance my Yoga journey even more in the future.
There’s so much to Yoga. So much to discover about the practice and most importantly, about myself. The possibilities are endless. Our capabilities are endless. What we can experience and uncover during Yoga is infinite. So here’s how I’d like to enhance my own personal Yoga journey in the future:
Try another Yoga retreat
I’ve been very honest about my experience at the first Yoga retreat I went on. But although that experience wasn’t for me, I’ve definitely not put the idea of going to another retreat at the back of the closet. There’s so many different types of retreats available and of course, not all of them are going to work for everyone.
So I’d absolutely love to try another Yoga retreat within my Yoga journey. Maybe abroad this time? A Yoga retreat France based would be great. Or perhaps Italy?
Collaborate with Yoga brands on my blog
Although I’ve been lucky enough to write a couple of sponsored posts for Yoga related companies, I’ve never fully collaborated with a Yoga brand on a piece of content before. So that would be a really cool thing to do to not only enhance my Yoga journey but also the well-being elements on my blog!
Incorporate crystals into my practice
I’ll hold my hands up and say I know very little about crystals. I own 3 and have the book The Power of Crystal Healing but there’s a lot of information to take in and I’m still not 100% sure which crystals are best for which feeling / situation. But I’m very interested in the power of crystals and I’d love to introduce them into my yoga journey.

Improve my flexibility and nail those poses
Before I started Yoga, I was the more un-flexible person in the world. I couldn’t touch my toes. And it a seated forward fold, I could just manage to get to my knees. The way Yoga has improved my flexibility is OUTSTANDING. Each time I jump on the mat, I’m amazed at what my body can do. I’d love to take that even further!
Learn more about the history of Yoga
After watching the Netflix documentary On Yoga: The Architecture of Peace, I’ve become more and more interested in the history of Yoga and the origins. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about learning, as I didn’t think I needed to (and you don’t). But I think it’s something I’d find interesting and inspiring going forward.
And dare I say it… become a Yoga teacher?
I mean, right now, that’s a pipe dream. But if Yoga has taught me anything, it’s that we’re capable of much more both physically and mentally than we realise. So in the future, could my Yoga journey lead me to becoming a Yoga teacher? It’s definitely not out of the question!
If you practice Yoga, how would you like to enhance your Yoga journey in the future? Have you done any of these things mentioned here? Let me know in the comments!

[…] started meditating unintentionally around a decade ago, when I started my Yoga journey. Yoga and meditation often go hand in hand but they don’t have to and you can meditate […]
I have crystals throughout my house – the ones I’m drawn to most are rose quartz – have several big chunks of this. During my practice I like to have jasper for grounding and a clear quart cluster (clear quartz is programmable) which I hope will help me use my daily yoga and meditation for better clarity and a higher energy. People say they notice the high vibe in my home – there are a lot of plants and I try to keep it tidy and clutter free – crystals help I believe anyway.
I’ve seen a couple of people go to yoga retreats abroad and they loved it, so hopefully you will too if you decide that’s what you’d like to do! I’m such a beginner with yoga but I really like Adriene’s videos, thanks to you suggesting her in a blog post months ago! x
I’d love to go to a retreat abroad. It sounds like an incredible experience. Hopefully one day!
I love following your yoga journey and I’m taking up that first spot as your first student! I really need to find a teacher that is patient and helps stick-people like me! xD
I’d recommend trying Yoga With Adriene’s beginners videos!
This is a lovely post. I recently started my yoga practice this year by following yoga with adriene. She really helps you to get motivated and has a fun relaxed feeling. Unfortunately Ive always struggled with a shoulder injury and will definitely be starting my yoga practice again once its healed. I’d love to give a yoga retreat a go and just carry on a more spiritual practice on and off the mat. So happy to hear your journey is going well and can’t wait to hear more of how you progress. May have to check out that netflix documentary- it sounds pretty awesome. Best wishes x
Hope the injury heals up soon so you can get back into Yoga! Love that you loved YWA so much! I’d highly recommend the documentary!
Thank you lovely 🙂
I’m hoping to go back to yoga next week. It’s been ages.
Hope you manage to go!
I need to start again, I’d love to go to a class but I don’t think I’d be confident enough x
Then try at home x
You make me really want to start Yoga! x
I hope you give it a try! x
I need to try and find a yoga style that I like because everyone who does it always says so many amazing things about it in so many different life areas. A retreat in France/ Italy sounds amazing! x

Same here x
I keep saying it but I really do want to start yoga xx
Then start! x
These sound great and I could totally see you teaching Yoga at some point too! 🙂

yoga is something I am forever trying to do more of! I am looking forward to see how your yoga journey continues!
Rosie
Thank you x
Yoga with Adriene is so great. I practice with her videos. I still can’t touch my toes, but I am getting there!
You’ll definitely get there! I couldn’t either when I first started – I was literally like a tin man!
This is inspiring! I did gymnastics as a kid and used to be really flexible (and at 37 can still do a mean cartwheel), but I have lost so much flexibility! It is something I am working on.
I love your vision for the future. I have a little collection of crystals that I like to sleep with as a way of channeling energy into my dreams and rest. I love the peace I see in others who do yoga but prefer a quiet mediation with breathing exercises to find my complete peace. 🙂
Thank you x
I love Yoga with Adrienne!!! I’m betting that you are gonna do all of this girl! You’re amazing!!
I do hope so!
I keep hearing about the wonders of yoga again and again and I haven’t been able to enjoy it myself!
People tell me I’m not doing it right because I get bored.
However, deep down I feel I haven’t given up on it yet!
There’s no “wrong” way to do Yoga, so ignore the people that tell you that! Perhaps you just haven’t found the right type of Yoga for you. Some of it is VERY slow. But a more upbeat practice might suit you better x
Being a yoga teacher would be amazing! My friend became qualified in India and she’s lived in so many countries, just travelling around the world teaching yoga which I think is amazing. I need to be more disciplined with my yoga, definitely… I often forget to fit it in, or perhaps don’t focus as much as I should. Would love to see you collaborate with some yoga brands!
Oh my god that’s an incredible thing that your friend is doing!
Great post! I’ve recently taken up yoga (in the last month or so) to try and aid my anxiety. I’ve got almost no flexibility but I feel good and strong during class. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes me!
So glad to hear that! It’s done wonders for my anxiety too.
I really want to try and do more yoga, mainly to increase my flexibility. I think I’m going to look into the yoga with adriene videos too!
You absolutely should – she’s an angel x
I love yoga! In the past year, I’ve incorporated weights and bands and love it. Xen Strength on YouTube has some videos but when I just need to center, basic yoga is lovely.
Glad to hear that! x
I definitely need to get more into yoga! It’s really helped to relax me the few times I have tried it in the morning after waking up, so I need to really work hard to make it a part of my daily routine x
Doing Yoga in the morning is so lovely!
I love to read your yoga posts and every time I think I need to start again.

Thank you x
Do you follow a specific yoga practice online, for example, or do you do your own moves? I’ve been interested in yoga for a little while now because I really need to improve on my flexibility!
I follow Yoga With Adriene’s videos on YouTube! Then occasionally I’ll do my own sequence but very rarely x
This is really interesting, I don’t practice yoga but I have a massive appreciation for it and I know lots of people who love it! It’s great that you aspire to teach it x

I’m sure you’d be a brilliant yoga teacher! You can tell how much you love it. I really want to give it a go soon, it sounds like it really helps so many people xx

I hope you manage to give it a go! x
Yoga is my joy.
I’m glad to hear that x
It’s interesting to read of your future aspirations in your yoga journey. I’d love to go to a retreat but I’m too scared – I worry that there wouldn’t be anything I could eat and that people would annoy me or get cross with me if I wandered in and out. The idea always sounds lovely to me though!
I wandered in and out of my retreat and it was fine. Retreats are usually vegetarian or vegan but they’ll always ask if you have any dietary requirements x
