AD – This is a collaborative post but all thoughts are my own
It’s been a long time since I last went to the happiest place on Earth – Disney. My last trip was in 2011 (it feels like an ultra long time to me!) and I’ve missed it ever since. Unfortunately for me, right after that last trip was when my anxiety got to it’s worst and I spend the next few years terrified to leave the house so a Disney trip wouldn’t have been on the cards for me then anyway. But since I’ve recovered from my mental illness, I am SO READY to go back.

And what wonderful timing… right before this COVID situation, I was actually starting to plan my next trip. Typical, isn’t it? I spend almost a decade unable to go but as soon as I can, we’re all forced to stay at home *facepalms*. I’m not complaining really; I’d much rather everyone be safe and well. That’s the thing about Disney…
It’ll always be there for you.
So naturally I’ve been seriously missing Disney and I’m really looking forward to when I can finally visit again. I’ve mentioned this on my blog before, including in my Florida Travel Wish List post I published last week, that the only Disney park I’ve actually been to is Paris. I’ve been to DLP 3 times and whilst I absolutely LOVE it, I would like to see some other Disney parks in my life, too. Particularly Florida. If you’re itching to go back too, grab your Disney tickets Florida and more here!
I’ve spoken about my huge love for Disney on my blog before. Although based on my blog name alone, you probably don’t need me to tell you that I love Disney. And for me, Disneyland Paris is my happiest place on Earth. It really is. When I step off of that train into the park, nothing can get to me. It’s like Disney magic is protecting me as soon as I walk into the park.
So today I wanted to share 8 reasons why I can’t wait to go back to Disney! Do you agree with any of these…
To go back on my favourite ride
Can you guess what my favourite ride is? I bet it’s pretty obvious. Peter Pan’s Flight is my favourite ride of them all. Although it’s slow and it’s certainly no thrill ride, it’s just so magical. The last 2 times I’ve visited the park, it’s been the first ride I went on when I got there and the last ride I went on before I left. In fact, we were very nearly late for our train because we were on that ride! Whoops!
To go on the thrill rides
Although Peter Pan’s Flight takes my top spot of the rides at Disney, the thrill rides make me mega excited and I can’t wait to go back and go on them. My boyfriend loves rides too so I can’t wait to show him the likes of Big Thunder Mountain, Crushes Coaster and Space Mountain – which I know he’ll absolutely love! And of course you can’t forget Phantom Manor and The Tower of Terror.
To meet the characters
Although it’s not something I usually prioritize when I go to Disneyland, I still love meeting the characters. I had a lovely meet with Winnie the Pooh at Christmas and Mickey at New Years. I think my favourite meets are when you casually bump into the characters walking around though!
To go shopping in Main Street
I love going for a mooch around the shops after a long day of riding the rides. I love the array of merch in there and always ending spending far too much but then again, who doesn’t when they’re unleashed onto Main Street? I’ve bought a cuddly toy every year I’ve been. Last time was Dumbo, the time before was Peter Pan. So I guess I’ll have to get someone else to go into my collection.
To watch the parades
The parades are a great way to break up to long days at Disney, which usually involve a lot of spinning on the rides and sore feet from all the walking. So I can’t wait to chill out with a hot chocolate and watch the parade travel down Main Street and into the park. The parades are always so much fun and it’s impossible not to have a little sing and dance along with your favourite characters!
To embrace Disney magic all day, every day
2020 has been stressful. To say the least. And I think we’ll all need a bit of magic and light to help us come to terms with the year we’ve had and move on. When I’m in Disney, I find it incredibly easy to switch off and embrace what’s going on around me. I mean, there’s so much going on all the time, it’s hard not to, right? Which is what I really need right now.
To treat myself after lockdown
As I was planning on doing this this year anyway but couldn’t because COVID and lockdown stopped me, I think it’ll be time to seriously treat myself when all of this is over and that’s another huge reason why I want to go back to Disney. After the stress of 2020, I think all of us are going to need some time away to switch off, relax and have fun. And for me, that’s definitely Disney!
To show Carl the magic of Disneyland
Carl has never been to Disneyland and in the time that we’ve been together, he’s introduced me to so many things that I’ve grown to love (like Motorsport) and taken me to so many places that he knew I’d like; Shropshire, Silverstone, the Norfolk Broads. So it’s time to return the favour. Carl loves Disney too and I know he’d love Disneyland so I absolutely can’t wait until we can book a trip and I can show him around for once!
I have never been, but it looks like so much fun!! I would love to be able to go within the next four years, so I can add that on my To-Do List of before I turn 30. I’m a huge Disney fan, too. I worked at my local Disney store, that was a lot of fun.
Hope you get to go soon!
I went to Disney World in Florida when I was 10, and it was genuinely such a magical experience. I would love to go to Paris and experience it all over again. This post has made me so nostalgic for Disney. The idea of watching the parade with a hot chocolate sounds utterly dreamy after the year we’ve all had!
Funny I had a dream I was at Disney last night!
I love the Disney Parks!
I love the Peterpan ride too. Disney is my happy place 💛 can’t wait to go back one day myself.
Such a positive post xx
The next Disney trip can’t come soon enough!
You wanting to take Carl because you love so many things he’s introduced you to is so cute. I haven’t been to Disney since 99 so I can hardly remember anything! x
Sophie
Awh thank you haha!
It’s just such a magical place! I’d love to do Florida, I’ve done Paris and I was like a 5 year old on acid!
Rosie
Hahaha don’t blame you!
I love Disney and Disneyland too, but, like you, I’ve only ever been to DLP. I’d love to visit Disney World! If only for Galaxy’s Edge. 😍 We went to DLP last year for my sister’s Hen weekend and we were supposed to go back next year (after Frozen / Star Wars season) for her 30th. But them COVID hit and she’s now pregnant so that will be hold for a whole.
Ah that’s a shame! Hopefully in the future!
I love Disneyland París! I think my favourite ride is Space Mountain, but I also love the Nemo one too. Have never been on an indoor roller-coaster before I visited!
The Nemo ride is soooo fun!
Your Disney posts always make me want to go there! I hope I can make a trip to Disney soon!
Fingers crossed!
I have never been to Disneyland but I would so love to go!! I went to PortAventura in Spain and its a little similar where it has all the rides and the different themed areas but one of my fave things was the parade, so I would love to watch the parade in Disneyland, I just feel like it would be so magical!
Chloe xx
I’ve been to PortAventura as well! I loved all the themed parts of the park 🙂
I got engaged in Disney many moons ago. I’d love to go back some day and stay in one of the Disney hotels.
You’ve just made me excited to go on vacation now! I don’t care where to at this point, just get me out!
Haha, same. A swamp will do at this point.
This is awesome, I hope every dream becomes a reality and that you take us with you on your journey with lots of pictures and blog posts!
Haha thank you! Lots of pictures will definitely be taken!
This has inspired me to draft out a post of things I’d like to do at Disneyland that I missed last year! I really do miss Disneyland, I spent 2 half days and 1 full day there and it wasn’t enough, but my feet hurt like crazy! I hope to be able to visit for longer next time and get more done x
Oooh I’d love to read that post! Nope, that’s definitely not long enough is it! I usually go for 4 days which is a good amount of time but I could stay longer!
I love Disney. It has been a few years since we’ve been to a Disney Park but we did an Alaskan cruise two years ago and it was so amazing. There’s nothing more magical than a Disney Vacation. Time to plan another one!
You’re so right. An Alaskan Cruise sounds amazing!
Aww sounds fun! I haven’t been to Disney since I was a kid but would love to go. I don’t like rides but the magic, characters and parades would be so fun!
There’s plenty of smaller rides, parades, shops, displays, restaurants and shows to take up your time for sure!
I think it’s a great idea to go back! Disneyland is one of the happiest places on earth. We could all use a little happiness right now.
It really is and I totally agree! Especially after this year!
I have never been to Disney and I so badly want to go – I just want to experience the magic if I’m honest!
Fingers crossed you get your trip when this is all over 🙂

Oh my god I’ve got all my limbs crossed that you can go soon!
These sound like some great reasons why you should go and treat yourself once lockdown is over. I’ve never been before but it seems like such a great place to visit.
It really is. The BEST place!
I love Disneyland! I makes me so happy but ultimately appeals to my inner child.
I can’t wait to go there once the virus is fully over!
Great post!

Same! It’s the best!
We only went last year and I really can’t wait to go back again already! Disneyland as an adult is honestly heaven on earth!!! 🙂 love it!
Lucky you got a trip in before all this happened!
I have never been to a Disney park 🙁 I hope I can do one day, but now with Covid…well, time will tell!
I hope you get to go one day! I know DLP is re-opening next month!
Everybody needs a trip to Disney after Covid! To escape to a magical place for a little while. Oh it is great showing someone around who is new to Disney parks. Hope you have a great time and get there soon!
They really do, don’t they! I can’t WAIT to show Carl around, it’s going to be so much fun!
We were considering a trip this year (or early next year) too. Bad timing on our parts but at least we’ll be even more excited when we do make it there.
Definitely bad timing but can’t be helped! Hope you get to go soon!
Dreaming of Disneyland! My favourite part was always the Disney Illuminations in the evening, I would always tear up x
Awh I don’t blame you!
Never been, but a HUGE Disney fan! Definitely also on my post lockdown to-to-list!
Yess definitely make a point to go!
The first I time I visited Disney I was 18 (late to the party I know) and I’ve been twice since! It’s the most amazing place! Plus as you said, the Peter Pan ride is so underrated because it’s not a massive thrill ride
It really is. It’s such a magical ride!
I went to Disneyland Paris when I was around 6 and loved it x
I went around the same age, can’t remember it at all!
Cool post! I also wish to travel to Disneyland or Disney World again in the future. The last time I visited Disneyland Paris was in 2004. I miss all the rides and characters.
I hope you get to go soon!
I have yet to visit Disneyland Paris but it sounds pretty amazing! The last time I went to Disneyland is back in 2013, and I miss it a LOT. Hopefully we will both get to back to Disneyland soon. x
It is amazing! I hope you get to go soon too!
Love this post! The parades and the fireworks were my favourite things about Disneyland and being there is just so magical. I’m like you and will definitely be going back once this is all over! x
Gosh the parades are SO MAGICAL!
Really hope you get to go back soon! I’ve never been before but it would be the dream one day xx

Really hope you get to go one day!
You have just brought back so many happy memories, we took the kids 3 times in total and the best holidays we ever had, we loved it overtime. We keep thinking about returning, I should add the kids are 28 and 25 now! Stayed in Sequoia Lodge, Santa Fe and Newport Bay. Favourite rides is a tough call, Pirates of the Caribbean is right up there, but don’t laugh, has to be “its a small world”. I even have the Disney Parad song on my play list in the Car!!!
I’m 27 – never too old to go to Disney! I love the Santa Fe hotel. I’ve stayed there 3 times! It’s a Small World is a great ride!
I’m hoping that when our grandkids are old enough it will give us a good excuse to make a return!
I really want to go to Disneyland someday! All the resorts are on my bucket list, I love Disney and it looks amazing there! 🏰💕
Really hope you get to go one day!
Disney is so much fun! I have so many fond memories of my trips.
Best place on Earth!
We have many wonderful memories of Disney and have been several times. I think when my children were toddlers they loved the parades the most.
I’m not surprised!
Wow thanks for inspiration. I haven’t been to Disney,
I would love to. Such a fairy-tale feeling, that’s what
makes me want to go..
I hope you get to go one day!
I’ve never been to Disneyland as i’ve never been able to afford it but its definitely on my bucket list! I can’t wait to meet all the characters, especially the princesses<3
It’s definitely worth the money when you can go!
Omg this really makes me want to go to Disney! I’ve only been to the one in Paris and that was when I was so little that the only thing I remember about it was that I got lost!!! I always thought Disney was ‘just a theme park’ and was so overrated, but more and more bloggers have been talking about it and there’s actually so much to see and do!!!
Disneyland Paris is my favorite place ever and it’s soooo much more than just a theme park!
I want to go to disney so bad! I went to the one in France about 6 years ago and want to go back xx
Hope you get to go back x
Love this post! The last time I was at Disney was 2015 and I really want to go back there!
Hope you get to go back soon
Thanks for sharing, you have some great reasons to go back, I have similar reasons to, I just miss it to! For me it has been 16 years 🙂

Wow that’s a long time without Disney!
I was in DisneyWorld just before the lockdown, on our first full day it was announced that Disney was closing! I was heartbroken to say the least! We had to cram everything in into 3 days! I hope I get to go back once this is all over! X
Oh my god what a nightmare!
Definitely agree with all these reasons!!
I’ve never been to Disney; but I can see the attraction – especially after the misery of lockdown! It would be wonderful to experience a magical place x
Paige // Paige Eades
It really would, especially now!
I’ve not been to Disney but I really want to! This has made me want to visit even more.
I loved the post and I’m looking at Disney holidays for 2022/2023 now!
Yayy hope you get to go!
This is such a lovely post! I think it’s great to look ahead and think about the things that will happen once this COVID-19 situation gets better. Peter Pan’s Flight is such an incredible ride! I definitely prefer the more tamer rides so it’s the perfect amount of thrill for me. This post has made me excited to visit Disneyland again as well!
I love the thrill rides but Peter Pan is just too magical not to be my fave!
A few years ago some friends of mine visited Disneyland Paris. They told me so much about this magical place that they convinced me I had to get there. Unfortunately, this year I really don’t think I will be able to, both because of the coronavirus and because my budget has dropped significantly during this period. But I dreamed that one day I would get there.
I’m not surprised, it’s been a tough year. I definitely won’t be travelling this year either!
I’d love to return to Disneyland too! I went once when I was a child and have been longing to go back since! I’d love to watch the parades and try the new rides!
There’s a few rides I’m yet to try too!
Ah, this post put a big smile on my face! Disney is such a cute and happy place, I’d love to go back x
Awh thank you! It really is!
I want to take my kids! Although I bet I will be more excited than they are! A fab post I can’t wait to return! Sarah
Haha if I had kids I’d definitely be more excited than them!
Love this! Thankfully we went to Disneyland Paris last summer and we all wanted to go back this year! You’ve come along way with your anxiety. I am plannng our first ever trip to Florida in the next five years, it’s an expensive trip that I want to get right!
I am planning a trip back to Disneyland Paris next Autumn, really can’t wait! Excellent post,
Thank you 🙂 You’re lucky you got in a trip last year!
Ahhh I love Disneyland and this is making me want to go back so badly too! My favourite thing is the atmosphere and main street which honestly just makes me feel happy <3 Meera-Abroad | Travel, Fashion & Food
Main street is great to wander down!
