2021 has been the year I’ve fallen in love with beauty products. Not necessarily make up but more so skincare, body care, tools, hair care and all that good stuff. I’ve experimented with more brands this year, discovered more amazing products and was even invited to the opening of a wonderful new store – which I’ll get into in a little bit!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to venture off into the world of beauty blogging any time soon, there are much more seasoned professionals who know what they’re talking about far more than I do for that. But perhaps this might mark the introduction of more beauty related content on my blog in the New Year. Or it might not. We’ll see.
Let’s get the boring bit out of the way: none of the links in this post are affiliate links however some of the products have been gifted to me for previous collaborations. This post isn’t an advertorial and I haven’t been compensated for featuring any of these brands here. Just mentioning them because I freaking love them and have been using them throughout 2021.
In this post, I wanted to share some of my absolute FAVOURITE beauty related products I’ve been using over the year and will likely continue to use well into 2022. These products are ones that I reach for time and time again or always make the effort to repurchase when I run out.
8 of my favourite beauty products from 2021:
Estrid Razor
Oh boy, the estrid razor. Every blogger and their nan have worked with estrid over the last year or so and it’s no surprise that some people might get a bit skeptical when everyone is raving about a brand that has put a lot of money into influencer marketing. I know I certainly am skeptical of those situations at times. But Estrid have without a doubt been one of my brands of the year.
I worked with estrid wayyyy back in the Summer and believe it or not, I am still using the same original blade. I haven’t even needed to change blades yet – that’s how good these are. I’ve been graced with effortlessly smooth and silky legs throughout 2021 and I have estrid to thank for that. An absolute banger of a brand and product. You can read my full estrid razor review here.
dew Velvet Hair Mask & dew Hair Essence Spray
These two products get used on a weekly basis at LEAST; I absolutely love them and hair care isn’t something I usually take much notice of. Which definitely needs to change. I worked with dew on this post about 9 self care tips for your hair and was kindly sent these two products to feature, with no expectation that they would end up on my favourites of the year.
dew are a small brand, which is great because some brands on this list aren’t small businesses and I know how important it is to support those small businesses. The hair mask makes my hair feel so soft; I often slather it on whilst I have a bath before washing my hair afterwards. The essence spray gets spritzed more or less every morning, smells divine and gives my hair a nourishing boost.
AD Nourishing Night Treatment Oil
I discovered this product and this brand when I was kindly invited to the new flagship Blomma Beauty Store in Coal Drops Yard. Blomma Beauty are ALL ABOUT natural, organic and vegan beauty. I had a consultation with the owner, Karen and was blown away by her knowledge of all things natural beauty, the ingredients and the products in her store. If conscious beauty is your thing, you NEED to check out Blomma Beauty – either online or in store.
One of the products I tested in store and was sent home with a sample of was the AD Nourishing Night Treatment. This is one of the most luxurious oils I’ve ever used and it is THE product that made founder Karen switch to a natural and organic beauty routine. So it’s had pretty high praise! I had to get myself a full size product of this one and I’ve been using it religiously since.
Anew Vitamin C Radiance Maximising Face Serum
I’ve used AVON on and off over the years, stopping for a while when I found out they weren’t fully Cruelty Free. I don’t go mad with AVON products but I really love this serum and I’m yet to find one that works as well as this does on my skin. I originally got a free sample of this vitamin c serum with something and I fell in love with so I had to repurchase.
It smells beautiful and I really love the packaging too – it looks really high end, even though it isn’t. This is the only serum I’ve found to give me a NOTICABLE boost to the skin. The skin on my face can definitely look a bit dull at times but this 100% does the trick. You’re only required to use this once a day, so I know this will last me a good while.
Feather and Down Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray
Okay is this a beauty product? More like a well-being product, I guess but this post is the closest I’m going to get to be able to talk about it so I’m going to feature it here anyway. I guess it could come under beauty as it helps you sleep better therefore, making sure you get enough *beauty* sleep. That’s all I got.
But this PILLOW SPRAY. Oh man. I’ve used a LOT of pillow sprays over the last few years. Some have given me headaches. Some have made me cough all night. Some just, don’t smell great. But this ticks all the boxes and more. It smells divine and clearly has a positive effect because I always drift off peacefully to sleep when I use this. 100000% recommend.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Age Protect
I’m a big fan of In the Frow and she mentioned this daily cream in one of her vlogs once, when talking about sunscreen. She raved this brand and this product in particular just as I was on the lookout for a REALLY good daily moisturizing sunscreen. I’m very fair, so I need that daily protection. It’s come to my attention that I wasn’t looking after my skin as well as I should.
So I bought this La Roche-Posay Age Protect on her recommendation and I absolutely love it. I use it every morning – every day – not just in the Summer. The sun’s rays get on your skin ALL THE TIME, so it’s so important to wear that layer of protection. This is the last step in my skincare routine before I put make-up on and I’ll definitely be repurchasing.
The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Yoghurt
Okay it’s never going to be a beauty favourites post without one of the beauty kings of the industry, The Body Shop, is it? I received a Christmas-themed Body Shop gift set for my birthday – back in September – which was all Almond Milk and Honey scented. This has always been one of my favourite Body Shop scents but I haven’t used it in a while.
So I’ve been thoroughly enjoying slathering myself in this body yoghurt after a bath over the last few month. You really can’t go wrong with The Body Shop products; for yourself or for a gift and there’s no surprise they make so many “favourites” lists. I definitely want to start shopping at The Body Shop more in the new year!
Those are my 8 beauty favourites for 2021! Of course I’ve used SO MANY more wonderful beauty products and brands over the last 12 months but these have been the real stand-outs for me. I also really enjoyed writing this post, so perhaps you may see some more beauty content on my blog in 2022.
[…] find a couple of these products featured in my Best Beauty Products of 2021 blog post I did at the end of last year. Although I don’t blog about beauty too much, […]
The pillow spray is one of my favourites too. I love the sound of the hair mask. I could definitely do with giving that a try.
That pillow spray is heavennnnw
Ahh the razor sounds good! I regret not working with them now. I had seen a few people advertising them and decided to turn it down as I had a lot on!
I’d love to try some pillow spray.
Corinne x
Ahh no! If you ever get the chance to work with them again I’d recommend it. They’re amazing!
I am a huge fan of la roche posay products so I will definitely like the anthelios cream. I would also love to try the razor. It seems like something I would need.
Thank you for this honest post!
The razor is amazing and I need to try more LRP products!
great list~! I love La Roche-Posay haven’t tried this one before. Also, I love the hair mask idea my hair gets so dry in the winter I will have to check this out 🙂
The hair mask is so so good!

Such a bloody good razor and brand!
What a great list! The only product I’m familiar with is The Body Shop yoghurt, which always smells so so so good, so I’m looking forward to doing a bit of research on the others and adding them to my wishlist 🙂
The Body Shop body yoghurts are sooo lovely aren’t they!
Great list! Thank you so much for sharing. 🙂
Thank you 🙂
These all sound so lovely – I love love love a good pillow spray, it’s one of my favourite items to take with me whenever I travel or just at home. The body shop body yogurt I discovered a couple years ago and became quickly obsessed with how it’s not oily but super hydrating (which is rare and I love it!). Thanks for sharing the others, I’ll be sure to check them out.
Yes I love that it’s not oily too, it’s got such a beautiful texture!
I actually haven’t tried any of these but they all sound fantastic! I’m always looking for new hair products because I can never seem to get it to look as good as it does at the salon. As for the pillow spray, not sure I’ll try that. Sometimes scents give me headaches, so I worry about spraying something on my pillow before I go to sleep. I’m just so sensitive to smells!
This one isn’t a really strong scent and it’s super calming but always worth being cautious with those things.
I have not tried any of these products yet but you’ve sold me – especially with that razor. I’m hoping it’s available to me in Canada. Thanks for sharing.
Fingers crossed!
I’ve not heard of some of these products/brands before so this was great to read; I’ll have to check some of them out as I’m looking to update my skincare routine for 2022!
Hope you find some of your own favourites here!
I use feather and down every night, such a gorgeous smell! And you can never go wrong with LRP. I’ve been using the FFS razor but v tempted to try the estrid razor!! Xx
I need to try some more F&D products – if I love this one so much I’m sure I’ll love the others too!
Fantastic post Jenny! I love the Ordinary and I discovered them last year 🙂 thank you for sharing your favourites x
Oooh yes I need to try those!
Ooo you’ve shared some amazing products and brands! I’ve never tried Estrid razors before but after reading your thoughts on it, I’ll for sure be trying it out asap! Thank you so much for sharing this with us lovely, I just love beauty products!! Xo

You won’t be disappointed, I promise!
I need to get my bum in gear and do one of these posts! I’m similar to you though, I feel like my love for makeup has lessened, but my love for skincare has increased massively! You’ve mentioned some really fab products here love. I’m really intrigued by the La Roche Posay SPF. I’m always a bit put off by the brand, even though I’ve heard amazing things about them, purely because I can’t work out what’s what. It seems like there’s too much choice! I love the estrid razors too!!

Oh I totally get that, there’s an overwhelming amount of choice and it’s definitely not easy to find what you need. I’d highly recommend this moisturiser though!
You’ve got a great list here. That’s exciting to hear that you were invited to the opening of a new store, well done you! I absolutely love the sound of the Estrid razor. Never heard of it, but now a razor that you don’t have to change all the time sounds awesome. I also like the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Age Protect, as I’m always in the sun, and I really should moisturise mores 🙂
Thank you! 🙂 Estrid are a brand of the year, for sure!
I love Estrid Razors! They’re honestly game-changing! Might have to check out the other things you’ve mentioned!
They really are!
