A-Z of me

I’ve seen this A-Z of me post scattered around the blogosphere quite a lot recently; and I’m not surprised. It’s a lovely, simple post to let people know a little more about you. I pinched the idea off of Fraser’s Fun House (who’s blog is fantastic, hint hint mummy and lifestyle bloggers, go and check it out!) and thought it would be a good idea to do as my follower count has grown substantially since the last time I did any sort of “get to know me” or “facts about me” type post which have been lost in the ether by now. So, let’s get going. A-Z of me and please excuse any of these which are ridiculous because chances are I couldn’t think of anything beginning with that letter.

Cheap, free or easy ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day

To some of us, associating Valentine’s Day with lavish gifts, romantic trips away or expensive meals just isn’t realistic or doable. Unfortunately, we’re not all in a position to be splashing that sort of money out on one day. If you are, then that’s great and I hope you find an amazing way to celebrate the day but for everyone else, I’ve compiled a list of either cheap or free and generally easy and low-key ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day this year if you’re a bit stuck for ideas. I’m not a huge lover of Valentine’s Day (maybe if I was being whisked off to Monaco, I would be!) but it’s always nice to do something nice, right?

Things I would tell my future child

Although I’m 25 (26 this year, oh dear God), I’m in absolutely no rush to have children. It’s in my life plan, I’d absolutely love to have a little one running around some day and it’d also give me a genuine excuse to watch Disney movies all day. Not the good old, “I wasn’t feeling 100% so I decided to take a self care day”. Amiright? With the world in the state it’s in, it genuinely does scare me to think about bringing a new child into it. I know that sounds lame but with so many social, political and environmental problems, what are we setting the adults of the future up for? However, I think our generation are fantastic role-models, advocates and hard-workers. Are we going to send our children into the world un-prepared? Hell fucking no.

* Clearly this elegant, beautiful child in this photo is me, it’s not some random kid

The perfect home cinema night!

I’m a big fan of the “night in“. In fact, I don’t do “nights out” because I don’t drink and clubbing isn’t my thing anymore. Oh and my anxiety would make it almost impossible for me to actually have fun, in a hot, sweaty club surrounded by drunk people with a bass drum pounding in my brain. So back to the point, nights in are good and I think we should all embrace the night in a little more and realise that they can be just as fun. Last year, I set up a home cinema one evening when my boyfriend came home from work. It had all the fixings and the making of a mini cinema just for 2! So here’s how to create your perfect home cinema evening if you fancy a cheap, cosy night in with a partner, friends or your mum!

The Bedtime Tag

It’s another tag post today (again because I’m running low on blog post ideas and I found this one on Little Owl Loves blog and thought it was cute! I wasn’t technically tagged in it – ooh rebel) and I love my bed and I love sleeping so I thought a bedtime tag was perfect for me! I’ve also recently bought some gorgeous new bedding so this is a great opportunity to show it off!

Baby it’s cold outside… *

If you’re in the UK, you would have likely noticed that we had our first Wintery snow shower about a week ago. As a lover of the cold, I personally thought it was a beautiful sight and although it didn’t set, it was nice to see the flurries drifting down whilst I was huddled up inside, warm by the fire! That might sound like a pleasant scene but of course, this time of year and the colder conditions can bring some problems. It’s important to enjoy Winter but also stay safe and healthy as well, especially when you’re out and about.

Tips for people who want to get into yoga

I am an avid Yoga-doer. I might not be the most flexible person and able to do elaborate poses and stretches and I may not have the most stamina and be able to partake in lengthy workouts but… I massively enjoy yoga and try and do at least a small bit every day. I find it benefits my mental and physical health all in one and for someone with anxiety, thats the perfect type of exercise for me.

How to stay productive when working from home

I’ve been self-employed and working from home for a good 3 years now. I started my own online book touring business up from scratch, gained a client base and continue to grow and grow and get evermore busy. I also make a small income from my blog, which also requires more working from home, on my laptop. I’m not complaining though. I absolutely love what I do and hope to grow even more over the coming years to make a solid monthly income which I’ve created all by myself. But it hasn’t always been easy and it still isn’t sometimes. Working from home takes a lot of discipline and there are an awful lot of distractions to interrupt with your work too. Today I wanted to chat about how to stay productive when you’re working from home something that I’ve certainly had to learn, work on and continue to work on over the past 3 years.

5 things to do when you feel a little lost

It’s inevitable that at some point or another, all of us are going to stop what we’re doing and think, “huh?”. Wonder where our career is going, whether our dreams are possible or if we’re getting real deep, what the meaning of it all is. I certainly have found myself in that situation more than once; most notably, right before I started blogging. I’ve never once had a more intense feeling of, “what’s the point” than then but fortunately I was pulled out of a dark, lost place by books and blogging which eventually got me to where I am today with my own business and a successful blog. Yay! However, I’m not naïve to the fact that I will probably get those feelings again. In the meantime though, I wanna share some of my own tips on what to do when you’re feeling a little lost in life.

Jenems Jewellery: Autumn Range

I’m about to present to you the most overused and generic sentence in blogging history. When Jenems contacted me and asked if I wanted to work with them, I jumped at the chance. But this really was the case here because they weren’t just sending me any ol’ jewellery… oh no. I was going to receive some pieces from their brand new Autumn range and if you know me at all, you’ll know that I am down for all things Autumn. Basic Autumn bitch right here.
