A conversation that irked me

This is going to be one of my fairly word-vomitty, un-planned, see where it takes me type posts so if you’re not a fan of those, I won’t be offended (I wouldn’t be a fan either, don’t worry). But I had a conversation a few months ago that really irked me and I wanted to share it with you in case it irks you too – misery loves company and all that! So behold, story time with Jenny in Neverland. Today’s story is called, “A Conversation With my Postman”.

Meaningful conversation

It’s likely that this post is going to be a bit of a nonsensical ramble. But that’s okay. I’m going with the flow and seeing where the wind takes me with this one. A couple of months ago now, I tweeted a tweet. Yes, you might say, that’s generally what you do on Twitter. Well this particular tweet was met with a big response, a lot of likes and retweets and a heck of a lot of comments. Some wholeheartedly agreeing with me, some half agreeing with me and some not so much. But with over 800 favourites and 200 retweets, it was obviously a tweet that a lot of people resonated with.

De-cluttering made easy

I’m a very tidy, organised, Type A sort of person and I hate with all my being having too much “stuff” and too many possessions. I hate mess, I hate having drawers heaving with crap and I hate keeping stuff I don’t really need. I know I sound like a bit of a clutter Nazi right now but literally the only stuff I have on display in my bedroom is what is on my bookcase (because no matter how much I hate clutter, I still take pride in my books). I think we can all benefit from having a bit of a de-clutter a couple of times a year but I know not everyone finds it as easy as I do to just throw things away without a second thought. So, if you’re in a position where you know you need to have a clear out but don’t know where to start, then consider this your handy guide of simple things you can de-clutter if you find it hard throwing stuff away.

Things to do before you hit “publish”

Things to do before you hit “publish”

Since my little discussion about why I like blogging for bloggers, I’ve been inspired to write more blogging-related blog posts lately. I think there will always be a blogging related topic that someone needs or wants to find out more about and blogging is such a multi-layered hobby or career that even the smallest and seemingly most obvious pieces of advice can go a long, long way. I’ve certainly learnt that over the years I’ve been blogging; making the smallest change or doing what I think is something insignificant can make a impact on my blog. Today’s post is a little bit like that, a bit of a “well duhhhhhh” but sometimes it’s not “duh” at all. Sometimes we do genuinely forget to do the simplest things when it comes to blogging. I mean, we’ve got a hell of a lot to think about, can you blame us?

Does it even matter

I rarely write posts which are unplanned, unstructured and spur of the moment. My Type A, obsessive, stressy, organised personality just doesn’t do that. So only a handful of times in my blogging life have I just whacked WordPress open and started typing of my own accord because I had something on my mind which I wanted to write about. This is one of those times. In fact, it almost wasn’t. Typically, I have a “blog post ideas” note on my phone (along with 50 other notes and lists of various things) which I was just going to add this idea to, to write at a later time but then I thought, why the f would I do that? It’s on my mind now. So stop being so goddamn uptight and write. So that’s what I’m doing. Obviously.

This or that challenge tag

It’s tag time! (aka; Jenny can’t think of any blog post ideas) Thank you to the lovely Minttu from Life of Menta for the tag! You can check out her post here and do have a nosy around her blog because it’s absolutely stunning – I’m also a huge fan of the Finnish language so seeing posts written in English and Finnish is really fascinating to me (you can see how much I get out from that sentence alone). Anyway, on with the tag then!

Should I go Vegan?

Before I start with this post I just want to pop a PSA out there into the world right away and say that I’m not (currently) Vegan. I’m going to go into a bit more detail about my relationship with food but I’m keen to share this brand with you because since being on Twitter, my eyes really have been opened to Veganism and I know an awful lot of Vegan bloggers (two of my favorites are The Curvaceous Vegan and Glow Steady) who I thoroughly enjoy. I think we all need to do our bit to help the planet and I don’t necessarily agree with this, “all or nothing” attitude that some people adopt. For some people, it’s not possible to have a Vegan diet but they can help in another way by shopping cruelty-free and using Vegan skincare. But food, plant-based options and Eco-friendly behaviors are always worth discussing.
