Valentine’s Day can mean different things to everyone – and there’s certainly no right or wrong way to go about the day (apart from crapping on other people’s happiness – don’t do that). If you don’t celebrate it, that’s cool. If you do, that’s cool too. I fall somewhere in-between those two poles. I’ve never gone “all out” on Valentine’s Day but if I’m with someone, I like to acknowledge it in some small way. Maybe making dinner that evening or letting them chose the movie? Because sometimes, small gestures can mean a lot too. Valentine’s Day doesn’t always mean lavish gifts or fancy meals for everyone.
This is always one of my most looked forward to blog posts of the entire year, really. Despite the fact that I’m not a massive Christmas lover – I mean, it’s nice but I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite time of the year – I always love giving presents and I always greatly appreciate the gifts I receive in return. I like to showcase them on my blog, just to show that little bit of extra thanks. I know a lot of people don’t enjoy these posts and that’s all gravy baby, no offence taken here. But if you are one of the nosy sods (like me) who love seeing what other people got for Crimbo then keep reading! Enjoy.
Easter might be over and schedules may be getting back to normal and those “back to reality every day” blues are probably starting to settle in. I’m also confident that whatever your chocolate of choice, you’ve probably indulged on a lot of it over the past 2 weeks and good for you! You deserve to treat yourself! But just because Easter is over, it doesn’t mean you have to restrict yourself and not indulge in some tasty treats every now and again.
On a whole, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas. And this year it was pretty similar to every other year I can accurately remember; same old routine and equally as stressful and ultimately underwhelming. Our family aren’t particularly close, we’ve never really done anything special or celebrated Christmas particularly elaborately. But… I am always incredibly grateful for the presents I recieve and buying gifts for other people is actually one of my favourite things to do. Yes, Christmas has become a materialistic spectacle but I got some lovely gifts and want to share them with you! Albeit, almost a month too late.
We all love flowers, right? And we definitely all love chocolate. So what about… a chocolate bouquet?! I love supporting small businesses, especially local small businesses owned by people from my own neck-of-the-woods who, like me, work hard on creating and growing a business of their own – whatever it may be. I was in touch with Munch a Bunch, an Essex based small biz who creates gorgeous sweet and chocolate bouquets. And you can imagine my elation when one showed up on my doorstep.
I’m really excited to do this because it’s a bit different from your normal ‘tags’! I was tagged by Laura from SheLovesToRead, you can check out her answers here! Chocolate book tag? I know, I was confused at first too but the idea of this tag is to match books with certain types of chocolate which really did prove to be a challenge but it was a lot of fun so here we go… Continue reading
